- ABC Family Plans “Toy Story” Movie Events for June 5, 6 and 13
June 1, 2010 | Spend two weekends catching up with all your favorite “Toy Story” friends, including Woody and Buzz Lightyear, during ABC Family’s premieres of Disney•Pixar’s “Toy Story,” “Toy Story 2” and “Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins,” starting on Saturday, June 5th, Sunday, June 6th and continuing on Sunday, June 13th. The two-weekend event will include three “broadcast exclusive first looks” at this summer’s highly-anticipated film “Toy Story 3” (in theaters on Friday, June 18). The first “broadcast exclusive first look” at the upcoming movie will debut during the network’s presentation of “Toy Story,” premiering Saturday, June 5th; the second “broadcast exclusive first look” will debut during the Sunday, June 6th premiere of “Toy Story 2”; then on Sunday, June 13th, viewers can tune in for a full day of “Toy Story” programming, including sneak peeks at some of the new toy characters being introduced in “Toy Story 3,” as well as a third “broadcast exclusive first look” airing during the “Toy Story” telecast.
- New Cartoon Network Logo Launches Today
May 29, 2010 | Cartoon Network has launched a new logo both on-air and online this morning. The new logo launches as part of the network’s Memorial Day Weekend programming, which includes sneak peeks of the new series Unnatural History (premiering Sunday, June 13 at 8 p.m. ET/PT).
- Playhouse Disney Rebrands as Disney Junior in 2011, Becomes Full Channel in 2012
May 26, 2010 | Disney/ABC Television Group will launch Disney Junior, a new multiplatform brand and 24-hour basic cable/satellite channel and online site devoted to preschool-age children. Scheduled to debut in the U.S. in 2012, Disney Junior will invite mom and dad to join their child in the Disney experience of magical, musical and heartfelt stories and characters, both classic and new, while incorporating specific learning and development themes designed for kids age 2-7.
- Cartoon Network Announces Anti-Bullying Campaign
May 26, 2010 | Cartoon Network will leverage its influence among kids this fall with a brand new campaign aimed at educating and empowering bystanders to take action to reduce/prevent bullying. The on-air and online initiative will launch in October 2010 to coordinate with the fifth annual National Bullying Prevention Awareness Week (Oct. 4 -10), sponsored by the National Center for Bullying Prevention. Cartoon Network will create a new series of PSAs that will premiere on Friday, Oct. 1, at 9 a.m. directing viewers to key online resources at CartoonNetwork.com developed in coordination with its recently established Bullying Prevention Advisory Board. CNN, sister station to Cartoon Network within Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., also will present a series of editorial features on bullying to provide better understanding and response options for victims, bystanders and adults.

May 25, 2010 | Boasting the week’s Top 2 telecasts in Tweens 9-14 with “Good Luck Charlie” and “Sonny With a Chance,” Disney Channel was TV’s No. 1 network in Total Day for the 4th consecutive week in the key demo (472,000/1.9 rating – tie).

May 25, 2010 | Nickelodeon notched another weekly ratings win as basic cable’s top total day network, driven by the True Jackson, VP TV movie, “Trapped in Paris” (Saturday, 8 -9 p.m.), which secured basic cable’s top spot in its time period, averaging 3.4 million total viewers. The hour-long movie also was the number-one telecast on all TV in its time period with kids 2-11(5.2/1.9 million, +41%), kids 6-11 (6.8/1.5 million, +62%) and tweens 9-14 (6.1/1.3 million, +85%).
- Disney XD Begins Production on New Season of “Next X” That Premieres Monday, June 21
May 25, 2010 | Production has begun on a new season of "Next X," an action-packed reality sports series featuring star athletes Bucky Lasek, Daniel Dhers, Rune Glifberg and Gary Young mentoring young amateur competitors in their chosen sport. Sponsored by Hasbro, the six-episode short-form series will premiere MONDAY, JUNE 21 (7:15 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney XD and Disney XD.com with new episodes airing every Monday night until Monday, July 26. "Next X," developed by Disney XD in association with ESPN, reached 24.7 million viewers, including 4.3 million boys 6-11 last summer on Disney XD.
- Friday 5/21 Cable Ratings: Repeat of “Big Time Rush” Dominates New “Ben 10″ and “Generator Rex”
May 24, 2010 | Friday night’s repeat of Big Time Rush on Nickelodeon (8pm) out delivered new episodes of Ben 10 and Generator Rex on Cartoon Network (8-9pm) in households, total viewers, kids 2-11 and teens 12-17. All three did tie in adults 18-49, but that’s not the demo of these shows.
