July 27, 2010 | Cartoon Network scored solid double-digit prime time delivery and ratings growth among its targeted kids demos across the month of July, according to initial data from Nielsen Media Research. Versus the same 2009 time period, the monthly average kids 6-11 delivery (447,000) grew by 11% and ratings (1.8) by 13%, and kids 2-11 delivery (680,000) grew by 25% and ratings (1.7) by 31%. Also in prime time, kids 9-14 delivery (327,000) grew by 7% while ratings were unchanged. In Total Day, average monthly kids 6-11 delivery (402,000) improved by 9% and ratings (1.6) grew by 7%, while kids 2-11 delivery (625,000) and ratings (1.5) both improved by 25%. Kids 9-14 average monthly delivery (289,000) grew by 1% and ratings were unchanged.

July 27, 2010 | Powered by the season premiere of “Hannah Montana Forever” and series-high performances by “Sonny With a Chance” and “Good Luck Charlie,” July 2010 wrapped as Disney Channel’s most-watched July ever in Total Day in Total Viewers (2.1 million), ranking as the net’s 2nd most-watched month on record, behind only “High School Musical 2”-fueled August 2007. Disney Channel stood as the month’s No. 1 TV network in Total Day in Kids 6-11 (837,000/3.4 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (730,000/3.0 rating), topping runner-up Nickelodeon by 9% (837,000 vs. 769,000) and by a huge 26% (730,000 vs. 581,000), respectively.

Nickelodeon celebrates the landmark 10th anniversary of the world's most beloved Latina heroine, Dora the Explorer, with a brand-new, hour-long primetime TV movie, "Dora's Big Birthday Adventure," premiering Sunday, Aug. 15, at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon. The TV movie, which follows Dora and Boots on a whirlwind journey through Magic Storybook Land and guest stars Rosie Perez as La Bruja (the witch), John Leguizamo as the Flying Monkeys and Hector Elizondo as the Wishing Wizzle.

The front and back cover of the DVD reveals that Power Rangers will premiere in October on Nicktoons. The new season of Power Rangers will premiere in 2011 on both Nickelodeon and Nicktoons.

July 23, 2010 | Nickelodeon has greenlit a live-action television movie adaptation of one of its most popular animated series, The Fairly OddParents, it was announced today by Marjorie Cohn, President, Original Programming and Development, Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group. A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner!, based on the hit series from creator Butch Hartman, will combine live-action with CG animation and follow the adventures of a now 23-year-old Timmy Turner (Drake Bell, Drake & Josh) who refuses to grow up in order to keep his fairy godparents. A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner! is set to premiere on Nickelodeon in 2011, and will be executive produced by Hartman and Lauren Levine, co-executive produced by Scott MacAboy, directed by Savage Steve Holland and written by Hartman and series' former writer Scott Fellows (Big Time Rush).
