Toonami Roundup: Massive Schedule Changes, “Attack on Titan”, “Cowboy Bebop” & More Leave

ToonamiThe latest round of Toonami news is awfully depressing. Via the official Toonami Tumblr page, another massive schedule change is coming to the block starting February 7th. This news comes less than a week after Toonami’s first schedule change of the year, which detailed the removal of the final hour of the block (5am-5:30am ET/PT).

This time around, Toonami will be losing even more hours, including the 11:30pm ET/PT slot it gained just last year, as well as 3:30am-5am ET/PT timeslots (the 5am hour is still gone too).

Unfortunately, with the loss of more hours, this means more shows will be leaving. These include Attack on TitanBleachSpace Dandy, Cowboy Bebop, and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2ND GIG, as well as the aforementioned IGPX and Samurai Jack (both of which will still leave January 31st). Samurai Jack‘s final two episodes will still be made available on the Adult Swim website and Adult Swim’s Video On Demand section, available on most cable providers. No other announcements regarding an online continuation of any of the removed shows have been made as of this writing.

What is now left of the schedule has also been rearranaged. Dragon Ball Z Kai will move down to 12am ET/PT, Kill La Kill will now air at 12:30am ET/PT (instead of the previously mentioned 11:30pm ET/PT timeslot), and the rest of the block will bump down an hour from their current timeslots (with the exception of Gurren Lagann, which is only being moved back a half hour and One Piece, which is being moved back an hour and a half).

With the exception of Deadman Wonderland, Toonami will now be fully premieres and running for three and a half-hours (exactly half of what the block had before, six and a half).

The schedule for February 7th can be seen below (all times Eastern/Pacific):

  • 12:00 – Dragon Ball Z Kai
  • 12:30 – Kill La Kill
  • 1:00 – Naruto: Shippuden
  • 1:30 – InuYasha: The Final Act
  • 2:00 – Gurren Lagann
  • 2:30 – One Piece
  • 3:00 – Deadman Wonderland
