- Viacom Nets Go Dark on DirecTV
July 11, 2012 | Viacom, the media giant that owns MTV Networks (which owns Nickelodeon), has pulled their networks off satellite company DirecTV’s line-up. That means Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, TeenNick and Nick Jr. are all unavailable to DirecTV subscribers as of 11:46pm ET on Tuesday, July 10.

May 17, 2012 | Likely intended to benefit from Disney/Marvel’s The Avengers film, which is a huge mega-hit in theaters right now, Nicktoons has scheduled a five-hour Marvel superhero-themed marathon for this Sunday, called simply the “Super Hero Superthon.” The marathon features episodes of Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes, Iron Man: Armored Adventures and Wolverine and the X-Men.
- Nickelodeon Celebrates Earth Day With New Episodes
April 18, 2012 | Nickelodeon is celebrating Earth Day with a weekend full of exploring nature and helping the environment, beginning Friday, April 20, at 9:00 a.m (ET/PT). Catch brand-new episodes of Nick preschool hits including: Max & Ruby, Franklin and Friends, Fresh Beat Band; and a never-before-seen episode of the hit animated series The Penguins of Madagascar. The network will also encore green-themed episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants "SpongeBob's Last Stand," iCarly "iGo Nuclear" and Big Time Rush "Green Time Rush."
- Rob Dyrdek’s “Wild Grinders” Premieres April 27 on Nicktoons
April 12, 2012 | Professional skateboarder and entrepreneur Rob Dyrdek (star of MTV's Rob & Big, Fantasy Factory and Ridiculousness) brings a cartoon comedy, set against the exciting backdrop of the sport of skateboarding, to Nicktoons with the new series, Wild Grinders, premiering Friday, April 27, at 7:00 p.m. (ET). Inspired by Dyrdek's real-life experiences, each original half-hour episode follows the adventures of a group of friends bonded by their love of skateboarding. The 26-episode series, created and executive produced by Dyrdek, is produced in partnership with Home Plate Entertainment and Dyrdek's Four Down Productions. Agogo Corporation, Moonscoop, Telegael and Copernicus Studios are also co-producers on the HD production. Following the premiere, Wild Grinders will air regularly on Fridays at 7:00 p.m. (ET) on Nicktoons.
