Inside is a network-by-network rundown of this weekend’s events.
- “Voltron Force” Premieres June 16 on NicktoonsMay 23, 2011 | Nicktoons, the fastest growing kids’ network, brings the iconic franchise Voltron™ to a new generation with the brand new animated series, Voltron Force™. The series will launch as a commercial-free presentationof the 90-minute movie, “Voltron Force: New Defenders Trilogy,” Thursday, June 16, at 8:30 p.m. (ET). The half-hour series, which features an all-new theme song produced and recorded by Grammy Award®-winning producer and artist Swizz Beatz, follows the adventures of a new class of recruits as they join forces with the original team to fight evil by forming Voltron, the legendary super robot. The first original Voltron content in 10 years, this new iteration from World Events Productions in association with Classic Media and Kickstart Productions will feature never-before-seen Voltron configurations when the team’s Lions unite. The series will regularly air Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. (ET) on Nicktoons.
- Nickelodeon Closes April 2011 As the #1 Total Day Cable Net; iOMG Scores 8.8 Million ViewersApril 26, 2011 | Nickelodeon continued its 2011 winning streak, closing April as basic cable’s number-one total day network with total viewers (2.2 million), kids 2-11 (3.4/1.2 million), and kids 6-11 (2.9/626,000). The nets monthly win was fueled by strong performances by iCarly, which scored basic cable’s top entertainment telecast with total viewers (8.8 million) with “iOMG” (Saturday, April 9, 8 p.m. ET/PT), and the newest addition to the net’s hit preschool roster Bubble Guppies, which continues to top as the number-one preschool series on all TV. iCarly also ranks as basic cable’s top entertainment program with total viewers and the month’s top series on broadcast and basic cable with kids 2-11, kids 6-11 and tweens 9-14.
- Victoria Justice and the VICTORiOUS Cast Host Nickelodeon’s “The Big Help Earth Day” Programming on April 22April 18, 2011 | Nickelodeon will go green for Earth Day when the network encourages kids to take positive actions for the environment via The Big Help pro-social campaign and airs special episodes of its popular live-action and animated shows, on April 22. The Big Help Earth Day block, airing in primetime, will be hosted by Victorious stars Victoria Justice, Daniella Monet and Leon Thomas on location in Louisiana, where they participated in the network’s “The Big Help Earth Day in the Gulf” restoration project to refurbish the St. Bernard Parish wetlands outside of New Orleans. The cast will highlight the work and activities from the restoration project throughout the hour-long block that features a new episode of Victorious, guest-starring Ke$ha, airing at 8 p.m. (all times ET/PT), and a green-themed episode of Big Time Rush (“Green Time Rush”) at 8:30 p.m. Nick Jr. and Nicktoons will also celebrate Earth Day: Nick Jr. will air 24 hours of themed programming, and Nicktoons will present a week-long “Dib Saves the Earth” marathon April 18 - 22 at 5 p.m.
- Nickelodeon Scores Its Most-Watched Quarter Ever, Marks 64 Straight Quarters at #1March 29, 2011 | Nickelodeon’s 1Q11 performance marks the network’s 64th straight quarter as basic cable’s top total day network with kids 2-11, kids 6-11 and total viewers,–the longest streak of its kind. According to Nielsen Media Research (12/27/10-3/27/11), the network also posted its most-watched quarter ever with total viewers (2.4 million) and averaged a 3.7/1.3 million kids 2-11, 3.2/687,000 kids 6-11, and 2.3/481,000 tweens 9-14.

- Live-Action Sitcoms Coming to NicktoonsMarch 4, 2011 | TVGuide.com is showing that two live-action sitcoms will be joining Nicktoons’ TV schedule starting Monday, March 7. Drake & Josh and Ned’s Declassified will air every morning with double episodes from 7-9am ET, following an hour of The Troop at 6am.
- One-Hour “Rush Zone: Guardians of the Core” Finale Airs Saturday on NicktoonsFebruary 1, 2011 | An all-star roster of current and legendary NFL players, including the AFC Champion Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, NY Giants quarterback Eli Manning, New England Patriots receiver Wes Welker and John Madden, star in the hour-long finale of Rush Zone: Guardians of the Core – Saturday, Feb. 5, at 7:00 p.m. ET on Nickelodeon’s Nicktoons channel. The animated special features an introduction by NFL Network analyst Rich Eisen, and will include its own “halftime show” featuring an exclusive musical performance by Nickelodeon’s hit music group, Big Time Rush.

Today is no different. Here’s a rundown of the specials, marathons and premieres happening today:
- “Power Rangers Samurai” Premieres Monday, February 7 on NickelodeonJanuary 12, 2011 | Nickelodeon, the number-one entertainment brand for kids, introduces a new generation of kids to the legendary Power Rangers franchise with the prime-time premiere of Power Rangers Samurai, on Monday, Feb. 7, at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT). Combining comedy with action-filled storylines, the all-new half-hour series features a new cast of Rangers and never-before-seen villains, as well as high-octane action, martial arts and advanced special effects. From SCG Power Rangers LLC, an affiliate of Saban Brands, the long-running hit kids' TV phenomenon, now heading into its 19th season, is helmed by Haim Saban, who created and produced the original "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" series in 1993. Following the premiere, the show will air regularly Sundays at noon (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon, with encores Saturdays at noon on Nickelodeon and Fridays from 8 to 9 p.m. (ET) on Nicktoons.
