- Friday 6/18 Cable Ratings: “Suite Life” and “Big Time Rush” Win, “Ben 10″ and “Generator Rex” Down
June 21, 2010 | The second season finale of Suite Life on Deck scored 3.7 million viewers with a 4.5/20 kids 2-11 rating coming in slightly ahead of a new Big Time Rush on Nickelodeon with total viewers (3.2 million) but equal in the kids 2-11 demo (4.5/21). Cartoon Network’s new episodes of Ben 10 and Generator Rex were down about a half-million viewers from the previous week and about 0.5 points in the kids 2-11 demos.
- “Nick News: Middle School Unplugged” Premieres Sunday, June 27 on Nickelodeon
June 21, 2010 | What happens when three text-happy, techie tweens take a challenge to unplug for a week? Nick News with Linda Ellerbee finds out in Middle School Unplugged, premiering Sunday, June 27, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on Nickelodeon. Nick News asked kids across the country to go online and nominate a tech-obsessed friend or sibling who needed an intervention. Three offenders were chosen and challenged to abstain from using any form of technology for one week. The half-hour special follows their journey as they go seven days without smartphones, iPods, computers, MP3 players, video games, TV or radio. Yep. No texts, tweets or tunes.

- “SpongeBob SquarePants: The Clash of Triton” Premieres Monday, July 5 on Nickelodeon
June 14, 2010 | Nickelodeon, the number-one kids’ brand and largest producer of television animation in the world, wraps up Independence Day weekend with the premiere of a new SpongeBob SquarePants special, “The Clash of Triton,” on Monday, July 5, at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. The half-hour special features celebrity guest stars Victoria Beckham as Queen Amphitrite; John O’Hurley as her husband, King Neptune; and Sebastian Bach (Skid Row) as their rebellious son, Triton. Following the special, a week of all-new SpongeBob episodes will premiere Tuesday, July 6, through Friday, July 9, at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.

A brand-new hour-long iCarly TV movie, “iPsycho” (June 4, 8 p.m. ET/PT), drew 7.5 million total viewers — ranking as basic cable’s top entertainment telecast quarter to date. A new episode of Victorious, “Robarazzi,” at 9:00 p.m., set a series record, drawing almost 6 million total viewers. Big Time Rush also posted a record-setting performance with “Big Time Dance” (9:30 p.m. ET/PT), scoring its highest-rated performance with total viewers (4.7 million) since its launch (1/18/10).

May 25, 2010 | Nickelodeon notched another weekly ratings win as basic cable’s top total day network, driven by the True Jackson, VP TV movie, “Trapped in Paris” (Saturday, 8 -9 p.m.), which secured basic cable’s top spot in its time period, averaging 3.4 million total viewers. The hour-long movie also was the number-one telecast on all TV in its time period with kids 2-11(5.2/1.9 million, +41%), kids 6-11 (6.8/1.5 million, +62%) and tweens 9-14 (6.1/1.3 million, +85%).
- Friday 5/21 Cable Ratings: Repeat of “Big Time Rush” Dominates New “Ben 10″ and “Generator Rex”
May 24, 2010 | Friday night’s repeat of Big Time Rush on Nickelodeon (8pm) out delivered new episodes of Ben 10 and Generator Rex on Cartoon Network (8-9pm) in households, total viewers, kids 2-11 and teens 12-17. All three did tie in adults 18-49, but that’s not the demo of these shows.

May 18, 2010 | Sunday’s new episode of Good Luck Charlie on Disney Channel scored 3.7 million viewers and a 4.9 kids 2-11 rating. Repeats of iCarly and Big Time Rush on Nickelodeon did well. iCarly scored 3.1 million viewers and a 4.1 kids 2-11 demo. Big Time Rush scored 2.6 million viewers and a 3.6 kids 2-11 demo. Only Nickelodeon can repeat so well.
- Friday 5/14 Cable Ratings: Disney Channel Premieres Dominate, “Generator Rex” Improves on “Ben 10″
May 17, 2010 | Disney Channel dominated the ratings for Friday night. Disney had new episodes of The Suite Life on Deck, Wizards of Waverly Place and Phineas and Ferb. All three series posted over 3 million viewers and over 4.0 rating in the kids 2-11 demo. On Cartoon Network, a new episode of Generator Rex posted gains over lead-in Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, which was also new. Travis Yanan also included a repeat of VICTORiOUS in his report, which was a repeat at 8pm and posted 2.7 million viewers and 3.8 kids 2-11 demo. That’s pretty good for a repeat.
