- Nickelodeon Networks August 2010 Ratings Highlights
August 31, 2010 | Nickelodeon closes August as basic cable’s number-one total day network with kids 2-11 and total viewers, while also scoring its most-watched month ever with total viewers. According to Nielsen Media Research (7/26/10-8/29/10), Nickelodeon averaged 2.5 million total viewers and a 3.7/1.3 million kids 2-11 for the month and was up double digits with kids 6-11 (+12%) and tweens 9-14 (+16%).
- Nickelodeon’s “VICTORiOUS” Ranks As Basic Cable’s #1 Program on Friday With 3.6 Million Total Viewers
August 31, 2010 | A new episode of Victorious (August 27, 8 p.m. ET/PT), “Wi-Fi in the Sky,” scored the top spot on basic cable with total viewers (3.6 million) on Friday night and ranked as broadcast and basic cable’s most-watched program with kids 2-11, kids 6-11 and tweens 9-14. The new half-hour episode also posted high double-and triple-digit increases, averaging a 5.4/ 1.9 million K2-11 (+74%), 7.1/1.5 million K6-11 (+129%), and a 6.5/1.4 million T9-14 (+195%).

August 29, 2010 | Nickelodeon will premiere two new original animated series on Saturday, October 2. T.U.F.F. Puppy, created by Butch Hartman (The Fairly OddParents, Danny Phantom), and Planet Sheen, a spin-off based on the character Sheen from Jimmy Neutron.

August 27, 2010 | Saturday, August 28, 2010 will mark the last day of Power Rangers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the 4Kids series) being on broadcast television (ABC and The CW, respectfully). Both series will be heading to Nickelodeon and Nicktoons later this fall.
- The First “Nickelodeon Mega Music Fest” Premieres September 6
August 26, 2010 | Preschoolers get ready to party with Dora the Explorer, Yo Gabba Gabba! and some of today's top music stars for the first annual Nickelodeon Mega Music Fest, an hour-long prime-time concert special for the whole family, premiering Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 6, from 8:00-9:00 p.m. ET/PT. The Nickelodeon Mega Music Fest was shot live at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York and is hosted by actor/comedian John Leguizamo along with Sherri Shepherd as Stage Manager. The concert special features Justin Bieber, Dr. Phil, Colbie Caillat, Wyclef Jean, The Roots, Dora the Explorer, Yo Gabba Gabba!, The Fresh Beat Band, The Laurie Berkner Band and more.

August 24, 2010 | Nickelodeon closed the week (8/16/10-8/22/10) as basic cable’s number-one network in total day with kids 2-11(3.6/1.3 million) and total viewers (2.4 million). The net was also up double-digits for the week with kids 6-11 (+13%) and tweens 9-14 (+17%). Nick’s weekly win was driven by a solid performance by Big Time Rush’s (Friday, August 20, 8 p.m. ET/PT) hour-long TV movie “Big Time Concert,” which drew 3.3 million total viewers and averaged a 5.4/1.9 million K2-11, 7.0/1.5 million K6-11, and 6.0/1.3 million T9-14.
- Friday 8/20 Cable Ratings: “Big Time Rush” Season Finale Falls Behind New “Suite Life” and “Wizards”
August 23, 2010 | The premiere of Big Time Rush’s one-hour finale, “Big Time Concert,” scored 3.342 million viewers, coming in behind new episodes of The Suite Life on Deck (4.026 million) and Wizards of Waverly Place (3.746 million) in total viewers. With kids 2-11, Big Time Rush was first with a 4.7/19, followed by Suite Life with a 4.6/20 and Wizards with 4.3/17. The teens 12-17 demo had Suite Life first (3.4/18), Wizards second (3.3/16) and Big Time Rush third (2.6/12).

August 19, 2010 | Tori’s plan for a simple in-flight video chat to complete a school project results in all-out havoc for the Hollywood Arts gang in Nickelodeon’s brand-new episode of Victorious premiering Friday, August 27, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT). “Wi-Fi in the Sky” also features a cameo by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, who has a first-class fight with Trina on board the plane.
- “Dora’s Big Birthday Adventure” Scores 3.3 Million Viewers
August 17, 2010 | Dora the Explorer marked her first decade on-air by drawing 3.3 million total viewers (+88%) to her Big Birthday Adventure (Sunday, Aug. 15, 8-9 p.m. ET/PT) special. Big Birthday Adventure also averaged an 8.1/1.1 million kids 2-5 (+305%), scoring the high-rated Dora primetime special in almost two years and the top spot in its time period with kids 2-5 and kids 2-11 on both broadcast and basic cable television. Dora the Explorer currently ranks as the number-one preschool program on all television.

- “Back to the Future” and “Turtles Forever” Movies Coming to Nickelodeon and Nick at Nite Later This Month
August 10, 2010 | Nick at Nite will air the Back to the Future film trilogy three nights in a row starting Monday, August 23 at 8PM ET/PT. Nickelodeon will also premiere the movie Turtles Forever on Sunday, August 29 at 1PM ET/PT, marking the first airing of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the network. As you may know, Nickelodeon bought the franchise rights last October (including the 2003 4Kids series).

"Fred Figglehorn"), one of the most popular internet characters of all time, will land on Nickelodeon in his first-ever film, Fred: The Movie, premiering Friday, Sept. 17, at 8:00 P.M. (ET/PT). Similar to real-life teenager Lucas Cruikshank's fast-talking, hyperactive videos that have received upwards of 530 million views, the film will center on Fred's biggest adventure yet in trying to win over his unrequited love, Judy.

August 3, 2010 | Nickelodeon delivered a sizzling summer surprise with iCarly’s “iGot a Hot Room” (Friday, July 30, at 8 p.m. ET/PT), giving fans a never-before-seen look at Carly’s bedroom. The half-hour episode scored basic cable’s top spot for the week (7/26/10-8/1/10) with total viewers (7.7 million) and also ranked as the number-one telecast with all kid and tween demos. The premiere also was the top telecast on broadcast and basic cable on Friday with viewers P2+ and all kid and tween demos–averaging an 11.0/3.9 million K2-11, a 14.2/3.0 million K6-11 and a 14.0/3.0 million T9-14. Year to date, iCarly ranks as the top series on all TV with kids 2-11.

The TV movie, which follows Dora and Boots on a whirlwind journey through Magic Storybook Land and guest stars Rosie Perez as La Bruja (the witch), John Leguizamo as the Flying Monkeys and Hector Elizondo as the Wishing Wizzle.
