January 20, 2011 | Nickelodeon, in a first for the network, presents "Legends of Bikini Bottom," an anthology of five all-new, deep-sea SpongeBob SquarePants tales, premiering online first on Facebook then on-air on Nick. Guest starring Ginnifer Goodwin (Big Love) and Amy Sedaris (Strangers with Candy) "Legends of Bikini Bottom" kicks off with "Trenchbillies" (guest starring Sedaris) on the SpongeBob SquarePants Facebook page (www.facebook.com/spongebob) Thursday, Jan. 27, at 8 p.m. (ET) / 5 p.m. (PT). The next four stories – "Sponge-Cano", "The Main Drain", "The Monster Who Came to Bikini Bottom" and "Welcome to the Bikini Bottom Triangle" (guest starring Goodwin) – will premiere on Nickelodeon in an hour-long prime-time TV special on Friday, Jan. 28, at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT). The anthology of all five tales, including the on-air premiere of "Trenchbillies", will air Saturday, Jan. 29, from 10:00 to 11:15 a.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.

- “Power Rangers Samurai” Premieres Monday, February 7 on Nickelodeon
January 12, 2011 | Nickelodeon, the number-one entertainment brand for kids, introduces a new generation of kids to the legendary Power Rangers franchise with the prime-time premiere of Power Rangers Samurai, on Monday, Feb. 7, at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT). Combining comedy with action-filled storylines, the all-new half-hour series features a new cast of Rangers and never-before-seen villains, as well as high-octane action, martial arts and advanced special effects. From SCG Power Rangers LLC, an affiliate of Saban Brands, the long-running hit kids' TV phenomenon, now heading into its 19th season, is helmed by Haim Saban, who created and produced the original "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" series in 1993. Following the premiere, the show will air regularly Sundays at noon (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon, with encores Saturdays at noon on Nickelodeon and Fridays from 8 to 9 p.m. (ET) on Nicktoons.

January 11, 2011 | Premieres of Nickelodeon’s hit live-action series Victorious and Big Time Rush helped continue Nick’s top-ranked ratings run in 2011. A new episode of Big Time Rush, “Big Time Guru” (Saturday, Jan. 8, 8 p.m. ET/PT), scored as the number-one program in its time period with all kid and tween demos on broadcast and basic cable, while also taking cable’s top spot with total viewers (3.8 million). Big Time Rush was followed by a new episode of Victorious, “Rex Dies,” (8:30 p.m. ET/PT), which drew 4.2 million total viewers. The episode scored basic cable’s top spot in its time period and also took the top spot in its time period with all kid and tween demos.

- Nickelodeon’s New Preschool Series “Bubble Guppies” Premieres January 24
January 10, 2011 | Bubble Guppies, Nickelodeon’s new interactive CG-animated preschool series, makes a splash on Monday, Jan. 24, at 11:00 a.m. (ET/PT). From the Emmy Award-winning team behind The Backyardigans and Little Bill, this musical comedy set in a vibrant 3D underwater environment follows a group of diverse preschoolers with colorful fish tails who go on adventures discovering their world. Following the Jan. 24 premiere, Nickelodeon will air two weeks of brand-new episodes from Tuesday, Jan. 25 – Thursday, Jan. 27; and Monday, Jan. 31 – Thursday, Feb. 3, at 11:00 a.m. (ET/PT). January 10, 2011 | George Takei joins the cast of Nickelodeon's brand-new live-action comedy series, Supah Ninjas, one of five original series premiering on Nickelodeon in early 2011. Comic book in tone and cinematic in style, the half-hour series follows three unsuspecting kids who are drafted into the secret world of crime-fighting after Mike Fukanaga, an average high school student, discovers he is descended from a long line of ninjas. January 3, 2011 | Nickelodeon, the number-one kids' brand and largest producer of television animation in the world, has picked up a ninth season of the hit animated series SpongeBob SquarePants, it was announced today by Brown Johnson, President, Animation, Nickelodeon and MTVN Kids and Family Group. The network is adding 26 episodes to the series, which ranks as the top animated program with kids and tweens in 2010, that will roll out in 2012, including the series' landmark 200th episode. SpongeBob SquarePants has been TV's number-one animated series with kids 2-11 for 10 consecutive years.

December 20, 2010 | Nickelodeon has named three new participants for its 11th annual Fellowship for Diverse Writers, it was announced today by Karen Kirkland, Executive Director, Nickelodeon Fellowship for Diverse Writers. Kevin Arietta, a New York University graduate and former NYPD cadet, Kiyong Kim, an award-winning writer, director and illustrator graduate of Massachusetts School of Art, and Brian Stampnitsky, a sketch comedian and film school graduate of Vassar, will join the 2010-2011 Nickelodeon fellowship program that offers hands-on writing experience on current live-action and animated series. Additionally, two of last years fellows were recently placed on staff of Nickelodeon's animated hit series Fanboy & Chum Chum and The Penguins of Madagascar.
