March 29, 2011 | In recognition of his work as a philanthropist and environmentalist, Nickelodeon will honor actor and musician Justin Timberlake by presenting him with The Big Help Award during Nickelodeon's 2011 Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday, April 2, at 8:00 p.m. (ET/Tape delayed for West Coast). Timberlake will be honored during the star-studded telecast, hosted by Jack Black at USC's Galen Center in Los Angeles. The Big Help Award recognizes individuals who take actions to better the world and whose significant impact on their community has inspired kids to do the same.

March 29, 2011 | Nickelodeon’s 1Q11 performance marks the network’s 64th straight quarter as basic cable’s top total day network with kids 2-11, kids 6-11 and total viewers,–the longest streak of its kind. According to Nielsen Media Research (12/27/10-3/27/11), the network also posted its most-watched quarter ever with total viewers (2.4 million) and averaged a 3.7/1.3 million kids 2-11, 3.2/687,000 kids 6-11, and 2.3/481,000 tweens 9-14.

The net’s win was fueled by performances from a brand-new episode of iCarly “iPity the Nevel” (Saturday, March 19, 8 p.m. ET/PT), which ranks as basic cable’s top scripted series telecast for the week with total viewers (4.6 million); and SpongeBob SquarePants, which owned eight of the top 10 telecasts with kids 2-11 for the week.

March 22, 2011 | Paramount Home Entertainment, Nickelodeon and Shout! Factory today announced a sub-licensing agreement that will give Shout! Factory rights to distribute DVD and Blu-ray releases of some of Nick's classic animated programs, including The Wild Thornberrys, Hey Arnold, Danny Phantom, Aaaah! Real Monsters, and Rocko's Modern Life in the United States and Canada.

The TV movie spearheads a new season of more than 100 new episodes of the network's live-action hit series, including iCarly, Victorious, Big Time Rush, True Jackson, VP and the daily telenovela-style series House of Anubis, among others. - Wall Street Journal Posts First Image of Lead Character from Nick’s “Legend of Korra”
March 6, 2011 | The Wall Street Journal's Speakeasy has posted the first look at the lead character Korra from Nickelodeon’s follow-up of the Avatar: The Last Airbender series. The article says that the series is now going by the name of The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra and is now scheduled to premiere “next year”.
