- Nickelodeon’s 1Q 2002 Ratings: “ChalkZone”, “SpongeBob” and “Fairly OddParents”April 2, 2002 | Scoring its highest total-day ratings with kids 2-11 and total viewers in four years, Nickelodeon has completed First Quarter 2002 as basic cable’s number-one network on a 24-hour basis--extending its household reign at the top spot to 26 consecutive quarters. For 1Q ’02 with kids 2-11 in total day, Nick averaged a 3.1/21 rating and share (986,000 average kid viewers)—increases of +3% in rating and +7% in delivery over last year’s like time period. The network’s 24-hour average of 1.8 million total viewers for 1Q ’02 marks an +11% lift over like time period last year.

Beginning in September 2002, kids will get more of their favorite Nick shows on CBS on Saturday mornings --including The Wild Thornberrys and Hey Arnold!--as some of Nickelodeon’s most popular animated series with kids 2-11 make their broadcast television debut. The new series being added to the schedule will be combined with the established Nick Jr. preschool favorites to serve a wider kids 2-11 audience on CBS’s Saturday mornings.
- Nickelodeon’s “Kids’ Choice Awards 2002” Premieres April 20March 5, 2002 | Kid favorite Rosie O’Donnell will return for a sixth year to host Nickelodeon’s 15th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards, joined by an array of stars from the worlds of film, music, sports and television. - Nickelodeon February 2002 Ratings HighlightsFebruary 26, 2002 | Propelled by drawing its biggest kids’ and total viewers’ audiences ever during its Kids’ Day* schedule, Nickelodeon finished February 2002 as the number-one basic-cable network on a 24-hour basis among overall households (1.5/1.2 million HH), up +5% in rating over last year and +15% ahead of the number-two-ranked Lifetime Television (1.3/1.1 million HH—up 5%), according to Nielsen Media Research for 1/28-2/24/02. Also, in prime time (8-11 p.m. ET/PT) among households, Nickelodeon/Nick at Nite scored a 1.6/1.4 million HH, up 7% over last year.
