Disney Channel Has Canceled “Secrets of Sulphur Springs” and “Saturdays”

Disney Channel has canceled both of their live-action single-camera series, Secrets of Sulphur Springs and Saturdays.

Secrets of Sulphur Springs premiered in 2021 and has aired three seasons with 27 total episodes. Deadline reported the news of its cancellation.

Saturdays aired for a single season of 15 episodes in 2023. TV Line reported on its ending.

With BUNK’D also ending after its current seventh season, this will leave three live-action multi-camera sitcoms left in the balance: Raven’s Home (6 seasons), The Villains of Valley View (2 seasons), and Pretty Freekin Scary (1 season). Decisions on the future of these shows has not been made public yet.

Recently it was announced that a sequel series to Disney Channel’s 2007-2012 mega-hit Wizards of Waverly Place was ordered to pilot. Currently with a working title of Wizards, the series will star David Henrie as an adult Justin Russo with a family.

Deadline also reported in BUNK’D ending their article that the channel was focusing on a new slate of live-action sitcoms. The TV Line article also says that Disney “is now focusing on building out its multicam strategy, Disney-owned IP, and global tentpole programming.”.
