“Raven’s Home” third season gets new showrunner
EUNETTA T. BOONE JOINS DISNEY CHANNEL’S ‘RAVEN’S HOME’ AS EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Accomplished writer/producer Eunetta T. Boone has joined Disney Channel’s hit sitcom “Raven’s Home” as executive producer and showrunner for its third season. She most recently was a consultant on the series, working closely with its executive producer and star Raven-Symoné. Emmy®-nominated writer/producer Warren Hutcherson (“Dr. Ken,” “The Bernie Mac Show”) also joins the creative team as co-executive producer for the series. Production for season three is underway and will premiere in 2019.
Nancy Kanter, executive vice president, Content and Creative Strategy, Disney Channels Worldwide, and general manager, Disney Junior Worldwide said, “Eunetta has not only an intrinsic understanding of the craft of storytelling but deep experience delivering smart, funny shows that have entertained audiences for decades. She’s the ideal leader to bring on board as we begin the third season of this well-loved Disney Channel show and we look forward to having her partner with Raven and the talented cast and crew to elevate it even further as a series kids and families can’t wait to watch.”
Boone’s reputation as a consummate storyteller was well-earned through her roles as creator and executive producer of the comedy series “One on One” starring Kyla Pratt and its spin-off “Cuts,” starring Marques Houston and Shannon Elizabeth. She also served as co-executive producer of two series simultaneously, “My Wife & Kids” starring Damon Wayans and Tisha Campbell-Martin and “The Hughleys” starring DL Hughley and Elise Neal. She was previously a co-producer on “Living Single,” a supervising producer on “The Parent ‘Hood,” and a story editor/consultant on “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.” Boone also wrote the film “Who Is Doris Payne?” and is featured in “The Life and Crimes of Doris Payne” documentary.
For the past six years, Boone has been a screenwriting instructor with an emphasis in comedy writing for The UCLA Extension Writers’ Program.
Boone said, “Working with a talented, diverse, intergenerational crew in front of and behind the camera is a showrunner’s dream. In addition, to work with the comedic genius of Raven-Symoné is a rare opportunity. We’re going to have a great time creating an awesome show.”
Raven-Symoné said, “Gary [Marsh], Nancy and everyone at Disney Channel listened when I said I wanted to be fully immersed in the media and entertainment business, creatively and as an entrepreneur. I’m very happy to welcome Eunetta on board as we work together to deliver stories that entertain and inspire kids and families.”
Boone began her career as a sports reporter for the Baltimore Sun, the first African-American woman to cover sports in the city of Baltimore, and only the third African-American woman in the nation to cover at a major daily. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a journalism degree and received her Master of Science in journalism from Columbia University.
In its second season, “Raven’s Home” is Disney Channel’s #2 series in Total Viewers, Tweens 9-14 and Kids 6-14, behind only “Andi Mack.” For its second season alone, “Raven’s Home” has generated nearly 35.0 million views across all social and digital viewing platforms, including 18.8 million total video views on social media and 15.6 million views on VOD.
New episodes of “Raven’s Home” premiere Friday evenings at 9:00 p.m. EST/PST on Disney Channel, in the DisneyNOW app and Disney Channel VOD.
