During January 2015, powered by the series premiere of the spy adventure comedy “K.C. Undercover” and all-new episodes of hit sitcoms “Jessie,” “Girl Meets World,” “Austin & Ally” and “Liv and Maddie,” Disney Channel posted 5-month highs, sweeping TV’s Total Day for the 2nd-consecutive month across major youth Kid 2-11 (695,000/1.8 rating), Kid 6-11 (505,000/2.1 rating) and Tween 9-14 (471,000/2.0 rating) demographics. Moreover, Disney Channel has been TV’s #1 favorite destination for 45-straight months with Kids 6-11 and 57-consecutive months with Tweens.
For the first time ever, and by its biggest margin on record, Disney Channel more than doubled Nickelodeon in Tweens 9-14 (+108% – 469,000 vs. 226,000) and produced its largest advantage in nearly one-and-a-half years in Kids 6-11 (+47% – 502,000 vs. 341,000) – September 2013. In addition, Disney Channel surpassed Nickelodeon by its greatest margin in 30 months in Total Viewers (+18% – 1.364 million vs. 1.153 million) and in 29 months in Kids 2-11 (+14% – 688,000 vs. 602,000) – since July 2012 and August 2012, respectively.
In Primetime, Disney Channel extended its streak as TV’s #1 network to 119-consecutive months in Kids 6-11 (767,000/3.2 rating) and to 115-straight months in Tweens 9-14 (695,000/2.9 rating).
- The January 18 premiere of “K.C. Undercover” ranked as the #1 cable TV telecast of the month – and of 2015 to date – in Kids 6-11 (1.4 million/6.1 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (1.4 million/5.9 rating) and was the month’s #1 live-action cable TV telecast in Kids 2-11 (1.8 million/4.5 rating).

24-Hour Disney Junior channel
During January 2015, boasting record highs, 24-hour Disney Junior channel dethroned Nickelodeon to rank as TV’s #1 Total Day network in Kids 2-5 for the first time in the channel’s history among preschoolers 2-5 (276,000/1.8 rating) and was the #1 choice for the 2nd-straight month among Girls 2-5 (151,000/2.0 rating). Notably, this marked the channel’s #1 month on record in Total Viewers (600,000), Kids 2-5, Girls 2-5 and Women 18-49 (116,000).
Among only preschooler-dedicated networks, the channel ranked #1 for the 22nd-consecutive month in Total Viewers, Kids 2-5 and Boys 2-5 (125,000/1.6 rating) – each month since reporting public ratings on April 1, 2013 – for 19-straight months in Girls 2-5 and for 20th months in a row in Women 18-49.
- Year-to-year, 24-hour Disney Junior channel was the only preschooler-dedicated TV network to generate year-to-year gains in target categories Total Viewers (+16% – 600,000 vs. 516,000), Kids 2-5 (+10% – 276,000 vs. 250,000) and Women 18-49 (+15% – 116,000 vs. 101,000).
- The channel delivered the month’s Top 6 series across preschooler networks in Total Viewers and Kids 2-5:
- Disney Junior channel topped Nick Jr. by a best-ever 127% in Total Viewers (600,000 vs. 264,000), by 138% in Kids 2-5 (276,000 vs. 116,000), by 150% in Boys 2-5 (125,000 vs. 50,000) and by 152% in Women 18-49 (116,000 vs. 46,000), and by its 2nd-largest margin to date in Girls 2-5 (+129% – 151,000 vs. 66,000).
- Disney Junior channel exceeded Sprout by triple digits for the 22nd–consecutive month among Total Viewers (+303% – 600,000 vs. 149,000), Kids 2-5 (+376% – 276,000 vs. 58,000), Girls 2-5 (+504% – 151,000 vs. 25,000), Boys 2-5 (+279% – 125,000 vs. 33,000) and Women 18-49 (+263% – 116,000 vs. 32,000).
