Toonami Roundup: “Deadman Wonderland” Returns in January, “Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood” Leaves
After December’s Month of Movies, Toonami plans on doing some rearranging to their schedule this January, including a returning show and a long-time show leaving the airwaves.
For starters, Deadman Wonderland will be returning to the block on January 3rd, airing at 2:30am ET. The show was a part of Toonami back when the block was revived on Adult Swim in May 2012. This will be the first time the show has ran on the block since August 11th, 2012.
In addition, a long-time Adult Swim staple will be leaving after December 2014 – Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. According to co-Toonami creator Jason DeMarco, the show’s contract expired, thus its sudden removal in the middle of its current run. The show has been running on the adult network since February 13th, 2010.
Another big change coming along is what we were promised at Momocon: Cowboy Bebop in glorious HD! The show will be re-starting from Episode 1 starting January 3rd and will be aired in its proper 4:3 aspect ratio, done the same way as Dragon Ball Z Kai ‘s broadcasts.
Minor changes to the schedule starting in January include the removal of The Big O after it completes its run on December 27th, 2014, IGPX returning to the line-up at 5am ET, InuYasha: The Final Act moving up from 2am to 1am, and other shows being bumped down one or two timeslots.
The new schedule, taking place on January 3rd, 2015 follows (times ET/PT):
11:30pm Attack on Titan
12:00am Dragon Ball Z Kai
12:30am Naruto: Shippuden
1:00am InuYasha: The Final Act
1:30am One Piece
2:00am Gurren Lagann
2:30am Deadman Wonderland
3:00am Bleach
3:30am Space Dandy
4:00am Cowboy Bebop (HD)
4:30am Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG
5:00am IGPX
