For 1Q 2014, Disney Channel was TV’s #1 Total Day network for the 12th-consecutive quarter in Kids 6-11 (525,000/2.2 rating – dates back to 2Q11) and for the 20th-straight quarter in Tweens 9-14 (484,000/2.0 rating – dates back to 2Q09), and had the Top 2 telecasts of the quarter among Tweens with the premiere of the Disney Channel Original Movie “Cloud 9” and the finale of “Good Luck Charlie.”
Disney Channel out-delivered Nickelodeon by at least double digits for the 11th quarter in a row in Kids 6-11 (+15% – 525,000 vs. 458,000) and Tweens 9-14 (+62% – 484,000 vs. 299,000) – dates back to 6/27/11.
In Prime, Disney Channel stood as TV’s #1 network to 39th-consecutive quarter in Kids 6-11 (822,000/3.5 rating) and 62nd in Tweens 9-14 (753,000/3.1 rating).
- The premiere of original movie “Cloud 9” (1/17/14, 8:00 – 9:40 p.m.) stood as the #1 cable TV telecast of 1Q14 across major youth Kid 2-11 (3.6 million/9.1 rating), Kid 6-11 (2.8 million/11.8 rating) and Tween 9-14 (2.3 million/9.7 rating) demographics.
- The finale of “Good Luck Charlie” (2/16/14, 8:00 – 9:00 p.m.) was the #2 cable TV telecast in Tweens 9-14 (2.2 million/9.1 rating) and the #3 telecast across all cable TV in Kids 2-11 (2.6 million/6.7 rating) and Kids 6-11 (2.2 million/9.2 rating).
24- Hour Disney Junior Channel
24-hour Disney Junior channel set all-time quarter highs in Total Viewers (459,000), Kids 2-5 (227,000/1.5 rating), Girls 2-5 (111,000/1.5 rating), Boys 2-5 (116,000/1.5 rating) and Women 18-49 (91,000), ranking as TV’s #1 preschool-devoted network and out-delivering Nick Jr. and Sprout by its largest margin on record in target demos.
Moreover, during the week of March 24, 2014, Disney Junior channel was the #1 preschooler network for the 52nd-consecutive week in Total Viewers, Kids 2-5 and Boys 2-5 – each week since reporting public ratings on 4/1/13 – was #1 for the 35th in Girls 2-5 and for the 40th in Women 18-49.
Overall, Disney Junior channel delivered the Top 3 series across preschool-dedicated TV networks in Total Viewers, Kids 2-5 and Girls 2-5, the Top 5 in Boys 2-5 and Top 4 in Women 18-49.
- Disney Junior channel surpassed Nick Jr. by its largest margin to date among target demos: by 41% in Total Viewers (459,000 vs. 326,000), by 46% in Kids 2-5 (227,000 vs. 156,000), by 39% in Girls 2-5 (111,000 vs. 80,000), by 55% in Boys 2-5 (116,000 vs. 75,000) and by its 2nd-largest margin in Women 18-49 (+38% – 91,000 vs. 66,000), despite being in 11.7 million fewer homes.
- Disney Junior Channel towered over Sprout by triple digits across key categories: Total Viewers (+196% – 459,000 vs. 155,000), Kids 2-5 (+224% – 227,000 vs. 70,000), Girls 2-5 (+208% – 111,000 vs. 36,000), Boys 2-5 (+241% – 116,000 vs. 34,000) and Women 18-49 (+160% – 91,000 vs. 35,000).
