SpongeBob SquarePants, Sanjay and Craig and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Rank as Top Animated Series with Kids; Sam & Cat is Week’s Top Live-Action Series
Nick’s Hit Preschool Lineup Tops the Week with Kids 2-5 with Premiere of Wallykazam!, followed by Paw Patrol, Team Umizoomi, Bubble Guppies, Dora the Explorer and Peter Rabbit
Nickelodeon closed the second week of February (2/3/14-2/9/14) as the leading basic cable net with Kids 2-11 (3.0/959K, up +3% over last year), Kids 2-5 (4.1/514K, up +8%) and total viewers (1.8 million).
The net’s weekly win was fueled by Nick’s hit programming roster. For the second consecutive week, SpongeBob SquarePants, Sanjay and Craig are the top animated series, respectively, with Kids 2-11; followed by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which took the number-three spot this week . SpongeBob SquarePants averaged a 6.0/1.9M (+40%) with K2-11 and 3.5 million total viewers. It also won with Kids 6-11 (5.1/997K, +11%). Sanjay and Craig ranked as the number-two animated series for the week, posting a 5.2/1.7M with Kids 2-11 and pulled 2.9 million total viewers. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles averaged a 4.5/1.4M with K2-11 and posted year over year ratings increases of +36%.
Sam & Cat continues to be the top live-action series with kids, winning the week among Kids 2-11 (4.9/1.6M) and total viewers (2.7 million). The Saturday Primetime premiere (Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. ET/PT) also posted double-digit year over year gains with Kids 2-11 (+20%), Kids 6-11 (+25%), Tweens 9-14 (+37%) and total viewers (+18%).
Nick’s preschool roster also scored the top six slots with K2-5 for the week, led by Wallykazam! and followed by Paw Patrol, Team Umizoomi, Bubble Guppies, Dora the Explorer and Peter Rabbit, respectively. The Wallykazam! premiere (Monday, Feb. 3 at 1:30 p.m. ET/PT) was Nick’s highest-rated preschool series premiere in almost 10 years and averaged a 7.2/896K with Kids 2-5, posting double-digit year-over-year gains with the demo (+57%) and total viewers (1.9M, +46%). Paw Patrol ranks as the weeks number-two preschool series, averaging a 7.2/893K (+67%). Team Umizoomi averaged 6.3/785K (+62%), Bubble Guppies averaged 6.2/766K (+29%), Dora the Explorer averaged a 6.1/754K (+33%) and Peter Rabbit capped it off averaging a 6.0/744K (+20%).
