Disney Channel: Total Day and Prime Highlights

For the week of January 27, 2014, powered by encores of original movie “Cloud 9” and hit original series, specifically “Liv and Maddie,” “I Didn’t Do It” and “Austin & Ally,” Disney Channel ranked as TV’s #1 network for the 138th-consecutive week among both Kids 6-11 (538,000/2.3 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (484,000/2.0 rating) – dates back to week of 6/13/11.

  • Disney Channel has towered over Nickelodeon by at least double digits for 117-straight weeks in Kids 6-11 (+18% – 538,000 vs. 455,000) and for the 119-consecutive weeks in Tweens 9-14 (+65% – 484,000 vs. 293,000) – dates back to week of 11/7/11 and 10/24/11, respectively.

In Prime, Disney Channel ranked as cable TV’s #1 network for the 455th-consecutive week among Kids 6-11 (828,000/3.5 rating – 8+ years) and 191st-straight week among Tweens 9-14 (739,000/3.1 rating – 3+ years).

  • Friday’s encore of original movie “Cloud 9” (8:00 – 9:40 p.m.) ranked as the week’s #1 cable TV telecast in Kids 6-11 (1.11 million/4.6 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (895,000/3.7 rating). Overall, Disney Channel aired the week’s Top 8 cable TV telecasts in Tweens 9-14 and 8 of the Top 10 live-action cable TV telecasts in Kids 6-11.

24-Hour Disney Junior channel

24-hour Disney Junior channel ranked as TV’s #1 preschool-dedicated Total Day network for the 44th-straight week among Total Viewers (464,000), Kids 2-5 (235,000/1.5 rating) and Boys 2-5 (127,000/1.6 rating) – each week since reporting public ratings on 4/1/13 for the 27th in Girls 2-5 (107,000/1.4 rating) and 32nd in Women 18-49 (95,000).

  • Disney Junior channel delivered the week’s Top 3 series across preschool-exclusive networks in Kids 2-5 and the Top 8 telecasts (Top 5 below) in the target demo:

  • Disney Junior channel defeated Nick Jr. for the 44th-consecutive week in Kids 2-5 (+69% – 235,000 vs. 139,000) and Boys 2-5 (+81% – 127,000 vs. 70,000) – every week since reporting ratings publicly – for the 27th-straight week in Girls 2-5 (+55% – 107,000 vs. 69,000), 32nd in Women 18-49 (+48% – 95,000 vs. 64,000) and for the 43rd time in the prior 44 weeks in Total Viewers (+55% – 464,000 vs. 299,000 – Nick Jr. tied for #1 during week of 6/3/13).
  • Disney Junior channel more than tripled Sprout across the board: Total Viewers (+216% – 464,000 vs. 147,000), Kids 2-5 (+256% – 235,000 vs. 66,000), Girls 2-5 (+234% – 107,000 vs. 32,000), Boys 2-5 (+285% – 127,000 vs. 33,000) and Women 18-49 (+206% – 95,000 vs. 31,000).
