via YTV press release:
YTV debuts wacky animated comedy Numb Chucks on Tuesday, January 7 at 4:30 p.m. ET/PT
(December 5, 2013 – Toronto, Canada) Corus Entertainment’s YTV is premiering Numb Chucks, a hilarious new animated series about two well-intentioned, yet misguided woodchucks, on Tuesday, January 7, at 4:30 p.m. ET/PT following SpongeBob SquarePants. The 26 x half hour series stars Dilweed and Fungus, two woodchucks with big hearts who are obsessed with using their bungling kung-fu skills to protect the lives of the citizens in their town of Ding-a-Ling Springs. “We’re thrilled to add this clever slapstick comedy to our YTV lineup,” said Jocelyn Hamilton, Vice President, Programming and Original Production, Corus Kids. “The woodchucks’ half-witted dialogue and laugh-a-minute kung-fu antics will have kids howling.”
While immersed in their own daily life among a ragtag cast of characters including an arrogant sheep and an uptight moose, Dilweed and Fungus take on a never-ending quest to thwart danger with the guidance of their mentor and hero, Woodchuck Morris. The result is a lot of ridiculous misunderstandings and a mish mash of over-the-top martial arts in which the chucks end up accidentally and obliviously solving the problem at hand.
”Numb Chucks is an off-the-wall, action-packed comedy that really delivers,” said Vince Commisso, President & CEO, 9 Story Entertainment. ”We are so pleased to be partnering with YTV on this hysterical series, and can’t wait to share it with kids across the country.”
The series will be complemented by interactive, digital content, including three online games on YTV.com as well as a mobile app in development that will feature several mini games with fun kung-fu-themed challenges.
