For the week of December 2, 2013, powered by Friday’s all new “A.N.T. Farm” and ”Dog With A Blog,” and two more encores of hit holiday cross-over special, “Good Luck Jessie: NYC Christmas,” Disney Channel ranked as TV’s #1 Total Day network and extended its streak as TV’s #1 network to two-and-a-half years in Kids 6-11 (540,000/2.3 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (519,000/2.1 rating) – dates back to week of 6/13/11.
Moreover, Disney Channel eclipsed Nickelodeon by at least double digits for the 109th-straight week in Kids 6-11 (+31% – 540,000 vs. 412,000) and for the 111th week in a row in Tweens 9-14 (+97% – 519,000 vs. 163,000) – dates back to week of 11/7/11 and 10/24/11, respectively – marking the network’s largest competitive advantage in 8 weeks in Tweens.
In Prime, Disney Channel was cable TV’s #1 network for the 447th-consecutive week among Kids 6-11 (875,000/3.7 rating – 8+ years) and 184th-straight week among Tweens 9-14 (833,000/3.4 rating – 3+ years), and was the #2 network in Total Viewers (2.42 million).
Impressively, along with #1 ESPN and #3 ABC Family, The Walt Disney Company owned the week’s Top 3 most-watched cable TV networks, marking its 3rd-consecutive week with the Top 2 networks in Prime.
- Friday’s all new “A.N.T. Farm” (8:00 – 8:30 p.m.) hit an over five-month high in Total Viewers (3.10 million) and posted two-month highs across Kids 2-11 (1.78 million/4.5 rating), Kids 6-11 (1.36 million/5.7 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (1.16 million/4.8 rating) – since 6/28/13 and 10/4/13, respectively.
- Overall, Disney Channel aired the Top 6 TV telecasts in Kids 6-11 and Top 9 in Tweens 9-14 (Top 5 below):
24-Hour Disney Junior Channel
The 24-hour Disney Junior Channel stood as TV’s #1 preschool-dedicated Total Day network for the 36th week in a row with Total Viewers (456,000), Kids 2-5 (218,000/1.4 rating) and Boys 2-5 (111,000/1.4 rating) – each week since reporting ratings publicly on 4/1/13 – for the 19th-consecutive week in Girls 2-5 (108,000/1.4 rating) and 24th in Women 18-49 (92,000).
- “Sofia the First” ranked as the week’s #1 series across preschool-dedicated networks in Total Viewers (874,000), Kids 2-5 (419,000/2.7 rating), Girls 2-5 (217,000/2.8 rating) and Women 18-49 (179,000/0.3 rating).
- Disney Junior Channel defeated Nick Jr. for the 36th-consecutive week in Kids 2-5 (+35% – 218,000 vs. 162,000) and Boys 2-5 (+35% – 111,000 vs. 82,000), for the 19th-straight week in Girls 2-5 (+35% – 108,000 vs. 80,000), for the 24th week in a row in Women 18-49 (+48% – 92,000 vs. 62,000) and for the 35th time in the prior 36 weeks in Total Viewers (+47% – 456,000 vs. 310,000 – Nick Jr. tied for #1 during week of 6/3/13), despite being in 12.8 million fewer homes.
- Disney Junior Channel more than tripled Sprout in target demos: Total Viewers (+221% – 456,000 vs. 142,000), Kids 2-5 (+257% – 218,000 vs. 61,000), Girls 2-5 (+272% – 108,000 vs. 29,000), Boys 2-5 (+247% – 111,000 vs. 32,000), and nearly tripled in Women 18-49 (+179% – 92,000 vs. 33,000).
