Disney Junior Block and TV Channel Get Schedule Changes Starting December 2

Just two weeks ago we announced changes to the Disney Junior block on Disney Channel that started November 11/12. Now, Disney has altered the preschooler block again – and the 24/7 TV channel – starting in December.

Starting Monday, December 2nd, the block on Disney Channel will extend again, taking back the 6-7:30am portion of the schedule from regular Disney Channel shows. The preschool block used to start at 6am for years before this fall, when Disney changed the 6-8am portion to schedule regular Disney Channel series – Phineas and Ferb, Jessie, Dog With A Blog and Good Luck Charlie. Good Luck Charlie was first to get the bump back in October, now the rest follow suit.

Starting December 2nd, Little Einsteins returns to the block at 6am. Henry Hugglemonster returns to the weekday part airing at 6:30. Also returning to the block on Disney Channel is Chuggington at 7am. 7:30-9am will remain Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Jake and the Never Land Pirates moves into the 9am slot, followed by Doc McStuffins at 9:30. Sofia the First moves back up to 10am, now followed by two more episodes of Mickey Mouse. Octonauts, which also was reduced in mid-November to just weekend mornings, returns to weekdays at its old slot at 11:30am. A second episode of Jake and the Never Land Pirates follows at noon with Doc McStuffins back at 12:30.

In response to these changes on the main Disney Channel block, the 24/7 Disney Junior TV channel will alter their 6-8am line-up starting December 2nd to present some soft counter-programming. The Hive will air at 6am followed by Tinga Tinga Tales at 6:30am, The Little Mermaid at 7am and Timmy Time at 7:30. These replace Octonauts, Henry Hugglemonster and Chuggington – which aired from 6:30-8, but all will remain on the 24/7 channel’s line-up in their other regularly scheduled slots.
