“The Aquabats! Super Show!” Returns for Three Specials Starting December 21 on Hub Network

2013 DAYTIME EMMY® NOMINATED SERIES “THE AQUABATS! SUPER SHOW!” KICKS OFF THE HOLIDAY SEASON WITH THREE SPECIALS, ON THE HUB NETWORK, STARTING DEC. 21
LOS ANGELES – The popular comedy-action-musical series, “The Aquabats! Super Show!” will return next month with the first of three specials featuring awesome adventures on Saturday, December 21 at 1 p.m. ET/ 10 a.m. PT, on the Hub Network, a destination for kids and their families. The remaining two specials will be broadcast Saturday, December 28 at 1 p.m. ET/ 10 a.m. PT and Sunday, January 19 (2014) at 2 p.m. ET/ 11 a.m. PT.
The first special titled “Christmas with The Aquabats!,” Ricky’s perfect Christmas is threatened when the Aquabats arrive in a strange village and are convicted of breaking a law that forbids any Yuletide celebration. Their only chance at saving themselves and Christmas is for the big man himself, Santa, to lend a mitten! The special includes guest stars Matt Walsh (“Veep”) as Santa and Robert Smigel (“TV Funhouse,” “Triumph the Insult Comic Dog”) as the voice of The Krampus. “The Aquabats! Super Show!” is produced by Awesome Forces! Productions.
The second special, “Shark Fighter!,” finds the Aquabats face-to-face with mutant land sharks and when the legendary Shark Fighter (Rhys Darby, “Flight of the Concords”) arises to take on the Bats, he ends up being the big brother Crash has always wanted. The third special is “Kitty Litter!,” where the Aquabats encounter a new villain who blames them for his villainous condition and devises a plot for revenge that uses the cuteness of kittens to battle his enemies.
From show creators Christian Jacobs (“Yo Gabba Gabba!”) and Jason deVilliers (“The Flyboys”), “The Aquabats! Super Show!” is the first show in kids’ television history to feature a real-life rock band in totally unreal comedy-action-musical adventures. Members of The Aquabats include The M.C. Bat Commander (Christian Jacobs), Crash McLarson (Chad Larson), Ricky Fitness (Richard Falomir), Eaglebones Falconhawk (Ian Fowles) and Jimmy the Robot (James Briggs). The series received a 2013 Daytime Emmy® Award nomination for Outstanding Children’s Series. Christian Jacobs, Jason deVilliers, Donna Ebbs and Nate Rogers serve as executive producers of the series, which is from Awesome Forces! Productions.
