For the week of October 7, 2013, powered by Friday’s and Sunday’s ‘Night of Premieres,’ Disney Channel stood as TV’s #1 network in Total Day for the 122nd straight week among Kids 6-11 (537,000/2.3 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (493,000/2.0 rating), approaching two-and-a-half years at #1 in the target measures (dates back to week of 6/13/11).
Disney Channel more than doubled Nickelodeon for the second week in a row in Tweens 9-14 (+112% – 493,000 vs. 233,000). The Channel also out-delivered Nickelodeon by double digits for nearly 2 years, or for 101 straight weeks, in Kids 6-11 (+46% – 537,000 vs. 369,000).
In Prime, Disney Channel stood as cable TV’s #1 network for the 439th week in a row among Kids 6-11 (861,000/3.6 rating – 8+ years) and 176th in Tweens 9-14 (786,000/3.3 rating – 3+ years).
- Sunday’s all new “Good Luck Charlie” hit a near 3-month high in Kids 6-11 (1.41 million/5.9 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (1.29 million/5.4 rating) – since 7/28/13 – while lead out “Liv and Maddie” delivered its #2 telecast on record in its regular time period in Tweens 9-14 (1.36 million/5.6 rating).
- Disney Channel delivered the week’s Top 5 TV telecasts in Kids 2-11, Top 14 TV telecasts in Kids 6-11 (Top 5 below) and Top 2 TV telecasts in Tweens (Top 55 of 60):
24-Hour Disney Junior Channel
The 24-hour Disney Junior channel ranked as TV’s #1 preschool-committed network in Total Day for the 28th straight week with Kids 2-5 (205,000/1.3 rating) and Boys 2-5 (94,000/1.2 rating) – every week since reporting public ratings on 4/1/13 – for the 11th consecutive week in Girls 2-5 (111,000/1.5 rating) and for the 27th time in the prior 28 weeks in Total Viewers (422,000). Notably, this week qualified as the channel’s 3rd-most-watched week ever in Girls 2-5.
- Disney Junior channel topped Nick Jr. for the 28th week running in Kids 2-5 (+22% – 205,000 vs. 168,000) and Boys 2-5 (+11% – 94,000 vs. 85,000), for the 11th straight week in Girls 2-5 (+34% – 111,000 vs. 83,000) and for the 27th time in the prior 28 weeks in Total Viewers (+22% – 422,000 vs. 347,000), regardless of being in 14.0 million fewer homes.
- Disney Junior channel towered over Sprout by triple digits for the 28th successive week across all core demos: Total Viewers (+156% – 422,000 vs. 165,000), Kids 2-5 (+181% – 205,000 vs. 73,000) and Boys 2-5 (+141% – 94,000 vs. 39,000), and by at least double digits for the 28th consecutive week in Girls 2-5 (+226% – 111,000 vs. 34,000).
