For the week of July 1, 2013, 24-hour kid-driven, family-inclusive television network Disney Channel celebrated 4th of July week ranking as TV’s #1 network in Total Day across Kids 2-11 (1.02 million/2.6 rating), Kids 6-11 (741,000/3.1 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (637,000/2.7 rating) – the network’s 6th consecutive week sweeping the major youth demos and 108th straight week at #1 in 6-11/9-14 – and was cable TV’s #1 network in Total Viewers (1.82 million).

The reigning #1 Total Day TV network for over 2 years now in Kids 6-11 and Tweens – dates back to week of 6/13/11 – Disney Channel towered over Nickelodeon by at least double digits for the 86th (+40% – 741,000 vs. 531,000) and 88th consecutive week (+80% – 637,000 vs. 353,000), respectively.

Nearing summer’s mid-way point, Disney Channel is pacing as TV’s #1 network for the 2nd straight summer in Kids 2-11 (1.00 million/2.5 rating), 5th in Kids 6-11 (703,000/3.0 rating) and 8th in Tweens 9-14 (630,000/2.6 rating), and cable TV’s #1 network for the 2nd summer in a row in Total Viewers (1.82 million). Upcoming major events include the premiere of original movie “Teen Beach Movie” (7/19, 8:00 p.m., ET/PT), ‘Into the Future Weekend’ (07/26-07/28) and “Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel,” the first ever crossover television special for Marvel and Disney characters (8/16, 8:00 p.m., ET/PT).

In Prime, Disney Channel extended its streak as cable TV’s #1 network to 427 consecutive weeks in Kids 6-11 (919,000/3.9 rating – 8+ years) and for 162 weeks in a row in Tweens 9-14 (739,000/3.1 rating – 3+ years).

Led by Friday’s all new “Jessie” (8:30 – 9:00 p.m.), Disney Channel delivered the Top 19 TV telecasts in Kids 6-11 (41 of Top 42, Top 5 below) and Top 32 in Tweens 9-14 (49 of Top 50, Top 5 below):

24-Hour Disney Junior Channel

The 24-hour Disney Junior Channel stood as cable TV’s #1 preschool-dedicated network in Total Day for the 14th straight week – each week since reporting public ratings – with Kids 2-5 (168,000/1.0 rating) and Boys 2-5 (81,000/1.0 rating), and for the 13th time in the previous 14 weeks in Total Viewers (364,000).

  • Disney Junior Channel surpassed Nick Jr. for the 12th week in a row in Kids 2-5 (+1% – 168,000 vs. 167,000) and Boys 2-5 (+5% – 81,000 vs. 77,000), and for the 4th consecutive week in Total Viewers (+7% – 364,000 vs. 339,000), despite being in 16.4 million fewer homes.
  • Disney Junior Channel easily surpassed Sprout by triple digits for the 14th consecutive week in the key demos Total Viewers (+103% – 364,000 vs. 179,000), Kids 2-5 (+137% – 168,000 vs. 71,000) and Boys 2-5 (+224% – 81,000 vs. 25,000), and by at least double digits for the 14th straight week in Girls 2-5 (+89% – 87,000 vs. 46,000).
