Nickelodeon Cancels “Marvin Marvin”
Looks like Nick is done with their resident alien. Marvin Marvin has been canceled, as it can be deduced by a tweet from series star Lucas Cruikshank on Wednesday.
The tweet posted at 9 p.m. EDT on June 26 reads: “I’ve been a Nickelodeon boy for years and today it came to an end. So excited for new beginnings. Love you all!”
Marvin Marvin is the latest in Nick’s line of live-action failures, which includes one-season wonders How to Rock, FRED: The Show (which also starred Cruikshank), Bucket & Skinner’s Epic Adventures and You Gotta See This. Supah Ninjas was surprisingly able to get a second, but was quickly dumped after it finished airing in April. Then there’s Wendell & Vinnie which is on life-support.
With iCarly and VICTORiOUS done, Sam & Cat is the only live-action hope currently on the network. Big Time Rush is all but done after its current season as well (based on tweets from the cast during the filming of the season finale).
Nick still has live-action sitcoms The Haunted Hathaways and The Thundermans still in store for this fall. The unscripted video series AwesomenessTV is also set to premiere next Monday, July 1.
