Disney Channel: Total Day and Prime Highlights

For the week of May 27, 2013, soaring to 9-week highs, 24-hour kid-driven, familydedicated television network Disney Channel swept Total Day across major youth demos Kids 2-11 (910,000/2.3 rating), Kids 6-11 (608,000/2.6 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (552,000/2.3 rating), marking an impressive 103rd consecutive week as TV’s #1 network in the latter two demos.

Competitively, Disney Channel beat Nickelodeon by at least double digits for the 82nd straight week in Kids 6-11 (+30% – 608,000 vs. 467,000) and 84th in Tweens (+89% – 552,000 vs. 292,000).

In Prime, Disney Channel extended its streak as cable TV’s #1 network to 422 consecutive weeks in Kids 6-11 (953,000/4.0 rating – 8+ years) and for 157 weeks in a row in Tweens 9-14 (867,000/3.6 rating – 3 years), and was the #2 cable TV network in Prime in Total Viewers (2.38 million).

  • Led by Sunday’s all new “Good Luck Charlie” and “Austin & Ally,” Disney Channel aired the Top 8 TV telecasts in Kids 6-11 and Top 53 in Tweens (Top 5 below):

24-Hour Disney Junior Channel

The 24-hour Disney Junior Channel ranked as cable TV’s #1 preschool-dedicated Total Day network for the 9th consecutive week – each week since reporting public ratings – in Total Viewers (359,000), Kids 2-5 (179,000/1.1 rating) and Boys 2-5 (104,000/1.3 rating).

  • Disney Junior Channel topped Nick Jr. by double digits for the 9th straight week in Boys 2-5 (+39% – 104,000 vs. 75,000), and for the 7th time in the previous 9 weeks in Total Viewers (+11% – 359,000 vs. 144,000), even though available in nearly 17 million fewer homes.
  • Disney Junior Channel towered over Sprout by triple digits for the 9th week running in the key demos of Total Viewers (+149% – 359,000 vs. 144,000), Kids 2-5 (+156% – 179,000 vs. 70,000) and Boys 2-5 (+300% – 104,000 vs. 26,000), and for the 7th time in the prior 9 weeks in Women 18-49 (+164% – 74,000 vs. 28,000).
