- “Dora the Explorer” Premiere Week Starting January 30 Features New Voice for Dora
January 26, 2012 | Nickelodeon invites kids to join Dora and Boots on brand-new interactive adventures during a special premiere week, Monday, Jan. 30 – Friday, Feb. 3, at 10:00 a.m. (ET/PT). The week of new episodes will feature Andy Garcia as the voice of famed literary character, Don Quixote, and Jason Alexander as the voice of a greedy owl. The premiere week kicks off a new season (season 7) and introduces 11-year-old actress Fátima Ptacek as the new voice of the iconic Latina heroine, Dora the Explorer. Throughout season seven, Dora and the viewers will explore and learn different concepts from the areas of music, art, science, geography, and classic literature. The new season will also incorporate a refreshed and enhanced look for Dora the Explorer, which after 11 years remains the most watched preschool program on television.

January 24, 2012 | Powered by the new animated action-adventure series Ninjago (8 p.m.), Cartoon Network's Wednesday night (7-9 p.m.) ranked as television's #1 network for boys 6-11 & 2-11 (and #1 on basic cable for boys 9-14). The block earned significant double-digit delivery gains across the board vs. last year's time period - average kids 6-11 delivery (763,000) increased by 71%, kids 2-11 (1,118,000) by 83%, kids 9-14 (568,000) by 62%, boys 6-11 (535,000) by 59%, boys 2-11 (725,000) by 65% and boys 9-14 (413,000) by 65%. Ninjago ranked as the #1 telecast of the day among boys 6-11 on all TV, and boys 9-14 on basic cable. It also was #1 in its time period among kids 6-11 & 2-11 on basic cable, earning strong double-digit delivery gains across targeted kids/boys demos ranging between 51% - 98%.

The half-hour episode ranks as this week's number-one entertainment program with kid and tween demos, posting double and triple-digit gains and averaging a 7.1/2.5 million (+54%) K2-11, 9.4/2 million (+68%) K6-11, and 8.9/1.9 million (+128%) T9-14.
- Nickelodeon and Televisa Partner With “Reach for a Star”, First Telenovela Adapted for U.S., on Nick@Nite
January 24, 2012 | Nickelodeon, in partnership with Televisa, has ordered 80 episodes of a groundbreaking, original one-hour U.S. adaptation of the popular Mexican telenovela, Reach for a Star (Alcanzar una Estrella) for Nick at Nite, it was announced today by Cyma Zarghami, President of Viacom's Nickelodeon Group; and Jose Baston President of Television and Content from Televisa. The first telenovela ever adapted for the U.S. audience, Reach for a Star is a single-camera, daily series following a teenage girl whose life changes completely when she becomes a star and wins the love of her teen idol. Reach for a Star will be produced in association with Sony Pictures Television and is set to premiere later this year on Nickelodeon's nighttime block for families--Nick at Nite. Production begins in March in Los Angeles, Calif.
- Me-TV Adds Weekend Morning Animation Block in 2nd Quarter 2012
January 24, 2012 | Me-TV, Memorable Entertainment Television announced today from NATPE an agreement with Broadcast Partners LLC and its Classic Media Library. Me-TV will be adding a weekend morning animation block featuring multi-generational favorites such as Gumby, Mr. Magoo, He-Man and She-Ra. The programming will be added to the Me-TV schedule beginning in the second quarter of 2012.
