- Nickelodeon Greenlights Three New Comedy Series for NICKMOM
April 19, 2012 | Nickelodeon today announced three new series pick-ups for NICKMOM, the prime-time, advertiser-supported TV comedy block and convergent web site designed specifically for today's moms. The three new series for television, The Judi and Kate Show (working title), Parental Discretion with Stefanie Wilder Taylor (working title) and What Carol Brady Thinks (working title) will join the previously announced stand-up comedy series, NickMom Night Out (26 episodes). The NICKMOM block will feature a mix of original long- and short-form programming, including talk shows, stand-up and sketch comedy, hidden camera and more.

In Prime (7-9 p.m.), average kids 2-11 delivery (897,000) grew by 18%, kids 6-11 (660,000) by 31% and kids 9-14 (551,000) by 42%. In Total Day, average kids 2-11 (609,000) grew by 25%, kids 6-11 (415,000) by 37% and kids 9-14 (330,000) by 37%.
- “The Legend of Korra” Premiere Scores 4.5 Million Viewers
April 17, 2012 | Nickelodeon’s highly anticipated premiere of The Legend of Korra (Saturday, April 14, 11a.m. ET/PT), scored a strong 4.5 million total viewers, ranking as basic cable’s number-one kids’ show and top animated program for the week with total viewers. The series, which continues the mythology of the beloved animated franchise Avatar: The Last Airbender, also posted double and triple-digit increases across all kid and tween demos, averaging a 5.7/1.2 million K6-11 (+36%), 6.3/1.3 million T9-14 (+125%) and 5.5/1.9 million K2-11 (+17%). The Legend of Korra also ranks as the network’s most-watched animated series premiere in three years.

April 13, 2012 | Disney Channel, the leading TV network for kids and families, has ordered "Dog With A Blog," a live action comedy series from Emmy-winning producer Michael B. Kaplan. A family sitcom from the pet’s point-of-view, it centers on step-siblings whose parents buy them a dog to encourage them to get along. That happens - to some extent - as brother and sister discover a big secret about their family's latest addition… that the dog can talk AND blog. The series will introduce a talented cast, among them, Disney Channel's next big star: a four year-old, mixed breed named Kuma in the role of Stan, the talking dog with a blog. - Rob Dyrdek’s “Wild Grinders” Premieres April 27 on Nicktoons
April 12, 2012 | Professional skateboarder and entrepreneur Rob Dyrdek (star of MTV's Rob & Big, Fantasy Factory and Ridiculousness) brings a cartoon comedy, set against the exciting backdrop of the sport of skateboarding, to Nicktoons with the new series, Wild Grinders, premiering Friday, April 27, at 7:00 p.m. (ET). Inspired by Dyrdek's real-life experiences, each original half-hour episode follows the adventures of a group of friends bonded by their love of skateboarding. The 26-episode series, created and executive produced by Dyrdek, is produced in partnership with Home Plate Entertainment and Dyrdek's Four Down Productions. Agogo Corporation, Moonscoop, Telegael and Copernicus Studios are also co-producers on the HD production. April 11, 2012 | Disney XD has ordered "Crash & Bernstein," a live-action comedy -- with puppetry -- about 14-year-old Wyatt Bernstein, the only son among four kids, who finally gets his dream of having a loud-mouthed brother when his puppet, Crash, comes to life. Crash brings Wyatt some much needed "boy reinforcement" amidst a household of sisters. Created by Eric Friedman ("Austin & Ally," "I'm In The Band"), the multi-camera series will begin production in Hollywood in May for a Fall 2012 premiere on Disney XD. April 5, 2012 | For a proactive, far-reaching campaign that encourages kids and families to take a stand against cyberbullying, Common Sense Media teamed with Disney's Friends for Change, the popular initiative that inspires kids to make a difference in their world. Public Service Announcements geared towards kids age 6-14 and their families, each featuring the stars of Disney Channel and Disney XD hit series, will be presented multiple times per day beginning THURSDAY, APRIL 5 on Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney.com. The messages were developed under the guidance of Common Sense Media, an independent non-profit organization which helps parents and teachers manage the media and technology in kids' lives. - “Motorcity” Premieres April 30 on Disney XD
April 5, 2012 | Disney XD is set to premiere "Motorcity," a turbo-charged animated series set in futuristic Detroit, controlled by an evil billionaire who bans personal freedoms, including automobiles. Now it's up to The Burners, a group of rebels led by 17-year-old Mike Chilton, to customize their fleet of cool hot rods and set out to stop Kane from taking over their last oasis of freedom, a subterranean refuge dubbed Motorcity.
