UPDATED: “Boy Meets World” Spin-Off Being Developed at Disney Channel
TVLine.com reports that Disney Channel is working on development for a spin-off from the 1990s sitcom Boy Meets World, currently titled Girl Meets World. The series would follow Cory and Topanga’s daughter. The network is trying to get Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel, the original actors for the roles, to return.
UPDATE 11/26: TVLine now reports that both Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel have signed on to reprise their roles as Cory and Topanga! Also: Ben tweets and Danielle has wrote a blog on Tumblr about Girl Meets World.
Boy Meets World aired from 1993-2000 on ABC. Disney Channel acquired the cable broadcasting rights (ABC’s sister company, also owned by Disney) and aired the show from September 2000 until August 2007. ABC Family aired the show from 2004 until August 2007 and resumed airing it again in April 2010. MTV2 (owned by Viacom) also began running the show in November 2011.
