3Q 2012 – Prime
During 3Q 2012, Disney XD recorded its most-watched quarter in the network’s history in Prime (includes its 10 years as Toon Disney) in Total Viewers (432,000) and target demos Kids 2-11 (252,000), Kids 6-14 (261,000), Boys 6-14 (148,000), Kids 6-11 (203,000), Tweens 9-14 (178,000) and Boys 9-14 (101,000), powered by original series, most notably live-action series “Pair of Kings” and “Lab Rats,” and Marvel’s animated series “Ultimate Spider-Man” and “Avengers: EMH.”
Moreover, 3Q saw Disney XD deliver its #1 month of all time in July 2012 in Total Viewers (476,000), Kids 6-14 (278,000), Kids 6-11 (215,000) and Tweens 9-14 (190,000), and its #2 month ever in Kids 2-11 (270,000). In addition, as of September 2012, Disney XD has grown its audience year to year for 45 consecutive months in Kids 6-11 and for 21 straight months in Kids 6-14 and Tweens 9-14, representing the longest growth streak of its kind among kid cable networks.
- Disney XD has grown its Prime audience year to year for an impressive 15 consecutive quarters Kids 2-11, Kids 6-14, Boys 6-14, Kids 6-11, Tweens 9-14 and Boys 9-14.
- Disney XD more than doubled Nicktoons in Kids 6-14 (+127% – 261,000 vs. 115,000), Kids 6-11 (+123% – 203,000 vs. 91,000), Tweens 9-14 (+170% – 178,000 vs. 66,000) and Boys 9-14 (+110% – 101,000 vs. 48,000), and surpassed the key competitor by double-digit percentages in Total Viewers (86% – 432,000 vs. 232,000), Kids 2-11 (+95% – 252,000 vs. 129,000), Boys 2-11 (+44% – 140,000 vs. 97,000), Boys 6-14 (+70% – 148,000 vs. 87,000) and Boys 6-11 (+61% – 113,000 vs. 70,000).
- Year over year, Disney XD posted solid increases in target measures, including by double-digit percentages in Total Viewers (+10% – 432,000 vs. 392,000), Kids 6-14 (+11% – 261,000 vs. 236,000) and Tweens 9-14 (+17% – 178,000 vs. 152,000).
Programming Highlights:
- Summer event “TRYathalon” (8/13/12), part of ‘Disney’s Magic of Healthy Living,’ premiered as Disney XD’s #1 non-scripted telecast of all time in Kids 6-11 (489,000), Boys 6-11 (220,000) and Tweens 9-14 (417,000), and reached nearly 4 million unique Total Viewers and more than 2.2 million unique Kids 2-11 throughout the week.
- An original “Lab Rats” (Thursday, 7/12/12) ranked as the series’ #3 telecast to date in Kids 6-14 (674,000), Kids 6-11 (545,000) and Tweens 9-14 (492,000).
Disney XD is a basic cable channel and multi-platform brand showcasing a compelling mix of live-action and animated programming for Kids age 6-14, hyper-targeting boys and their quest for discovery, accomplishment, sports, adventure and humor. Disney XD branded content spans television, online, mobile and VOD platforms. The programming includes series, movies and short-form, as well as sports-themed programming developed with ESPN. In the U.S., Disney XD is seen on a 24-hour, advertiser supported network that reaches over 78 million households via its basic cable and satellite affiliates.
