With one week remaining in third quarter 2012, Disney Channel is tracking as the #1 cable TV network in Total Day for the 1st time in the network’s history in Total Viewers (1.85 million), and will stand as TV’s #1 network for the 3rd consecutive quarter in Kids 2-11 (1.06 million/2.6 rating), 6th in Kids 6-11 (751,000/3.1 rating) and 14th in Tweens 9-14 (633,000/2.6 rating).

The special “Shake It Up: Made in Japan” event will rank as 3Q’s #1 TV telecast in Kids 2-11 (3.23 million/7.8 rating), Kids 6-11 (2.75 million/11.2 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (2.50 million/10.2 rating).

  • 3Q12 to date, Disney Channel outdelivers #2 network Nickelodeon by a solid 11% in Total Viewers (1.85 million vs. 1.67 million), by 21% in Kids 2-11 (1.06 million vs. 876,000), by 40% in Kids 6-11 (751,000 vs. 537,000) and by 51% in Tweens 9-14 (633,000 vs. 419,000).

For the week of September 17, 2012, Disney Channel boasted a record 67th consecutive week as the #1 TV network in Total Day in Kids 6-11 (512,000/2.2 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (445,000/1.9 rating), and was the #1 TV network for the 15th time in the prior 16 weeks in Kids 2-11 (797,000/2.0 rating).

For the 2nd consecutive week, “Good Luck Charlieranked as the #1 TV telecast in Kids 2-11 (1.91 million/4.8 rating), Kids 6-11 (1.54 million/6.5 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (1.45 million/6.1 rating).

  • Competitively, Disney Channel outperformed Nickelodeon by double-digit margins for the 46th straight week in Kids 6-11 (+35% – 512,000 vs. 380,000) and for the 48th consecutive week in Tweens 9-14 (+51% – 445,000 vs. 295,000).
  • In Prime, Disney Channel was the #1 cable TV network for over 7 years in Kids 6-11 (911,000/3.9 rating – 383 weeks), and for over 2 consecutive years in Tweens 9-14 (806,000/3.4 rating – 118 weeks).
