With two weeks left in 3Q 2012, Disney Channel is on track to rank as the #1 cable TV network on a Total Day basis for the first time ever in Total Viewers (1.88 million), and will stand as TV’s #1 network for the 3rd consecutive quarter in Kids 2-11 (1.08 million/2.7 rating), the 6th in Kids 6-11 (771,000/3.2 rating) and the 14th in Tweens 9-14 (648,000/2.7 rating). Impressively, 3Q12 is pacing as the network’s #2 quarter of all time in Kids 2-11 and Kids 6-11, and its #3 quarter in the network’s history in Tweens 9-14.
The 1-hour “Shake It Up: Made in Japan” event will rank as 3Q’s #1 TV telecast in Kids 2-11 (3.23 million/7.8 rating), Kids 6-11 (2.75 million/11.2 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (2.50 million/10.2 rating).
- 3Q2012 to date, Disney Channel tops runner-up Nickelodeon by a solid 12% in Total Viewers (1.88 million vs. 1.69 million), by 22% in Kids 2-11 (1.08 million vs. 886,000), by 40% in Kids 6-11 (771,000 vs. 549,000) and by 51% in Tweens 9-14 (648,000 vs. 428,000).
For the week of September 10, 2012, delivering the #1 TV telecast with Sunday’s “Good Luck Charlie,” Disney Channel extended its record-streak as the #1 TV network to 66 consecutive weeks in Kids 6-11 (505,000/2.1 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (446,000/1.9 rating), and stood as the #1 TV network for the 14th time in the previous 15 weeks in Kids 2-11 (782,000/2.0 rating).
- Competitively, Disney Channel out-performed Nickelodeon by double-digit margins for the 45th straight week in Kids 6-11 (+33% – 505,000 vs. 381,000) and for the 47th consecutive week in Tweens 9-14 (+49% – 446,000 vs. 300,000).
- In Prime, Disney Channel was the #1 cable TV network for over 7 years in Kids 6-11 (917,000/3.9 rating – 382 weeks), and for over 2 consecutive years in Tweens 9-14 (810,000/3.4 rating – 117 weeks).
