July 2012 is Disney XD’s #1 Month of All Time in Total Viewers and Target
Kid Demographics, Driven by Recent Weeks of Record Performances
~More Than Doubles Nicktoons in Core Kid Demographics
July 2012 – Primetime/Total Day
Driven by multiple airings of original series, most notably “Lab Rats,” “Kickin’ It” and “Pair of Kings,” July 2012 ranked as Disney XD’s most-watched month in Prime on record (includes its 10 years as Toon Disney) in Total Viewers (471,000), Kids 6-14 (275,000) and Tweens 9-14 (187,000), and its #2 month ever in Kids 2-11 (267,000) and Kids 6-11 (212,000).
Moreover, July 2012 and June 2012 stand as Disney XD’s Top 2 most-watched months in the network’s history in Tweens 9-14.
- Disney XD has grown or held its Prime audience year to year for 43 consecutive months in Kids 6-11 – the longest streak of its kind among all kid networks – and for 19 consecutive months in Kids 6-14 and Tweens 9-14.
- Disney XD more than doubled Nicktoons in Total Viewers (+104% – 471,000 vs. 231,000), Kids 6-14 (+150% – 275,000 vs. 110,000), Kids 6-11 (+147% – 212,000 vs. 86,000), Tweens 9-14 (+183% – 187,000 vs. 66,000) and Kids 2-11 (+119% – 267,000 vs. 122,000).
- Year to year, Disney XD grew by 5% in Total Viewers (471,000 vs. 449,000), by 6% in Kids 6-14 (275,000 vs. 259,000) and by 13% in Tweens 9-14 (187,000 vs. 166,000).
In Total Day, Disney XD also soared to its most-watched month in the network’s history in target demos, including Total Viewers (451,000), Kids 6-14 (268,000), Kids 6-11 (204,000), Tweens 9-14 (183,000) and Kids 2-11 (257,000).
- Year over year, Disney XD posted solid increases in key demos, including by 11% in Total Viewers (451,000 vs. 405,000), by 15% in Kids 6-14 (268,000 vs. 233,000) and by 22% in Tweens 9-14 (183,000 vs. 150,000).
Programming Highlights:
- An original “Lab Rats” (Thursday, 7/12/12) ranked as the series’ #3 telecast to date in Kids 6-14 (674,000), Kids 6-11 (545,000) and Tweens 9-14 (492,000).
Disney XD is a basic cable channel and multi-platform brand showcasing a compelling mix of live-action and animated programming for Kids age 6-14, hyper-targeting boys and their quest for discovery, accomplishment, sports, adventure and humor. Disney XD branded content spans television, online, mobile and VOD platforms. The programming includes series, movies and short-form, as well as sports-themed programming developed with ESPN. In the U.S., Disney XD is seen on a 24-hour, advertiser supported network that reaches over 78 million households via its basic cable and satellite affiliates.
