Viacom Nets Go Dark on DirecTV
Viacom, the media giant that owns MTV Networks (which owns Nickelodeon), has pulled their networks off satellite company DirecTV’s line-up. That means Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, TeenNick and Nick Jr. are all unavailable to DirecTV subscribers as of 11:46pm ET on Tuesday, July 10.
You can read more about the issue between DirecTV and Viacom at TV by the Numbers and numerous other sites out there. In a nutshell: Viacom wants more money for their networks to be distributed on DirecTV, DirecTV doesn’t want to pay the increases.
