Animated Reality Series Premiere Ranks as Network’s #1 Telecast of the Year to Date and Propels The Network To #1 for the Day with Kids 6-11

Cartoon Network’s hit animated reality series Total Drama Revenge of the Island returned Tuesday night, June 5 (7:30 p.m.) with the franchise’s fourth season, scoring as the #1 telecast of the day among all targeted kids – ages 2-11, 6-11 and 9-14 – earning double and triple-digit growth vs. last year’s time period, according to Nielsen Media Research. The season’s opening half-hour episode “Bigger! Badder! Brutal-er!” also out-paced all kids competition, by double and triple digits ranging between 66% and 277%, and propelled Cartoon Network’s entire Tuesday night early prime time (7-9 p.m.) line-up of animated comedies to #1 on all television among kids 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14, as well as boys 2-11, 6-11 and 9-14.

Additionally, Total Drama Revenge of the Island attracted more than 3.3 million viewers 2+, up a remarkable 51% vs. the same time period last year. The premiere also ranked as Cartoon Network’s #1 telecast of the year to date among kids 9-14, boys 9-14, and girls 9-14, while #2 (behind the Ninjago finale) among kids 2-11 & 6-11.

Highlights of Total Drama Revenge of the Island’s fourth season premiere performance, compared to the same 2011 time period, include the following:

  • Kids 2-11 delivery (1,852,000) increased by 63%, and ratings (4.5) by 67%
  • Kids 6-11 delivery (1,492,000) increased by 113%, and ratings (6.1) by 118%
  • Kids 9-14 delivery (1,535,000) increased by 187%, and ratings (6.4) by 191%
  • Boys 2-11 delivery (1,223,000) increased by 56%, and ratings (5.8) by 57%
  • Boys 6-11 delivery (1,027,000) increased by 109%, and ratings (8.2) by 110%
  • Boy 9-14 delivery (1,041,000) increased by 181%, and ratings (8.5) by 183%
  • Total Viewers 2+ delivery (3,306,000) increased by 51%
