- One-Hour “Rush Zone: Guardians of the Core” Finale Airs Saturday on Nicktoons
February 1, 2011 | An all-star roster of current and legendary NFL players, including the AFC Champion Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, NY Giants quarterback Eli Manning, New England Patriots receiver Wes Welker and John Madden, star in the hour-long finale of Rush Zone: Guardians of the Core – Saturday, Feb. 5, at 7:00 p.m. ET on Nickelodeon’s Nicktoons channel. The animated special features an introduction by NFL Network analyst Rich Eisen, and will include its own “halftime show” featuring an exclusive musical performance by Nickelodeon’s hit music group, Big Time Rush.

February 1, 2011 | Nickelodeon kicked off 2011 as the top cable network with kids 2-11, kids 6-11 and total viewers for the month, and posted its most-watched January ever with total viewers (2.4 million). The month’s win was fueled by series premieres of the new live-action hit, House of Anubis, and the latest addition to Nick’s hit preschool line-up, Bubble Guppies. Nickelodeon closed the month with a super-sized SpongeBob SquarePants special, “Legends of Bikini Bottom” (Saturday, Jan. 29, 10-11:15 a.m., all times ET/PT), which guest-starred Amy Sedaris (Strangers with Candy) and Ginnifer Goodwin (Big Love) and drew 6.4 million total viewers–topping basic cable for the week with all kid demos.
- Cartoon Network Ratings Highlights for January 2011
February 1, 2011 | Cartoon Network’s January 2011 performance out-paced its December 2010 performance across all kids demos in early evening prime time: average kids 6-11 delivery (515,000) and kids 2-11 delivery (782,000) both increased by 1%, while average kids 9-14 delivery (374,000) increased by 4%. Ratings across the board remained unchanged. The network’s total day performance also saw month over month gains, with average kids 6-11 delivery (328,000) gains of 3%, kids 2-11 delivery (514,000) gains of 1% and kids 9-14 delivery (240,000) gains of9%. Total day ratings for kids 6-11 and kids 2-11 remained unchanged, while kids 9-14 ratings (1.0) grew by 11%.

- Disney Channel Casts Comedy Pilot “Austin & Ally”
January 31, 2011 | After a nationwide search, three talented teens -- Ross Lynch, Laura Marano and Raini Rodriguez -- have been cast in the comedy pilot "Austin & Ally," to begin production next month in Hollywood. The pilot, in consideration for a Disney Channel series to premiere later this year, was created and executive-produced by Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert, whose credits include "Good Burger," "Keenan & Kel," Disney Channel's "Sonny With A Chance" and "JONAS."
