The Hub’s January 2012 Programming Highlights

This January, The Hub has new episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Pound Puppies, R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour: The Series and the second season of Dan Vs. Below are highlights for the month, from The Hub:

Sunday, January 1:

From 10am-3pm ET, The Hub features a special marathon of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero and Transformers Generation 1 episodes in their “Cobrapalooza Megatronathon” marathon.

Then at 5pm ET is The Hub premiere of the 1995 film Babe.

Saturday, January 7:

The Hub presents a new episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (10am ET) celebrating “Family Appreciation Day.” Apple Bloom does everything she can think of to stop Granny Smith from speaking to her class and causing everlasting embarrassment.

The Hub presents a new back-to-back, two-part episode, “The Most Evil Sorcerer” from the award-winning children’s series R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour: The Series (5-6pm ET). Living under the rule of an evil sorcerer, Ned (Connor Price, “What’s Up Warthogs!”) and Sara try to rebel by outwitting the sorcerer, leading to his demise. Guest starring Michael Ironside (“Smallville”)

Friday, January 13:

The Hub presents a special Friday the 13th marathon of Goosebumps and R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour: The Series episodes from 10pm-6am ET.

Saturday, January 14:

In a new episode “Stage Fright” from the live-action children’s anthology series, R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour: The Series (5pm ET), it’s the opening night for the high school production “Hansel & Gretel: The Musical!” and the thespians discover the play’s curse may be more than just superstition.

Then at 9pm ET is The Hub premiere of the breathtakingly beautiful documentary March of the Penguins, chronicling the heroic and harrowing journey that emperor penguins make amid subfreezing temperatures and violent snowstorms at the South Pole in order to find a mate.

Saturday, January 21:

In a new episode “Night of the Mummy” from the live-action children’s anthology series, R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour: The Series (5pm ET), a rare Egyptian exhibit comes to town, causing Seth (Zackary Gordon, Diary of a Wimpy Kid) to realize he may have something in common with the mummy of Boy Pharaoh.

Sunday, January 22:

In Part One of the season finale of Majors & Minors (10pm ET), the kids reconnect after individually perfecting their original songs for the final performance.

Saturday, January 28:

In the season finale of Pound Puppies (11am ET), when a lonesome little girl manages to adopt Lucky, he considers trying everything in order to get back to Shelter 17… including revealing their secret mission!

In an all-new episode “Headshot” from the live-action children’s anthology series, R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour: The Series (5pm ET), Gracie (Ariel Winter, “Modern Family”) wants to be the most famous and beautiful teen on the planet. But what she has to give up for it may not be worth the price.

Returning for a second season is the animated series Dan Vs. (8pm ET) featuring Dan, a lovable curmudgeon, who fights for the everyman. Avenging a new grudge in every episode, his misguided quest for justice leads him and his pals, Chris and Elise, into misadventures and catastrophes. In the premiere episode “The Neighbors,” a sweet, young couple moves in next door to Dan, and he immediately suspects they must be cannibals who intend to eat him. He sets out to make their lives as miserable as possible until they move out.

Sunday, January 29:

In Part Two of the season finale of Majors & Minors (10pm ET), each cast member performs his or her own original song for a live audience and music industry professionals. One lucky “star-in-the-making” claims the ultimate prize of a recording deal with Boardwalk Records/RCA Records and an opportunity to be featured in a cross-country concert tour.
