Disney Channel Original Movie “Geek Charming” captivated audiences across the U.S., ranking as Friday’s No. 1 TV Telecast among Kids 6-11 (2.2 million/9.0 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (1.9 million/8.1 rating), and cable’s No. 1 telecast in Total Viewers (4.9 million).
Along with replays of hit series “A.N.T. Farm,” “Good Luck Charlie” and “Shake It Up,” Disney Channel held Friday’s Top 15 TV telecasts in Tweens 9-14, the Top 4 TV telecasts in Kids 6-11 and cable’s Top 2 telecasts among Total Viewers.
- “Geek Charming” dominated its time period, outperforming runner-up Nickelodeon/Nick-at-Nite by 255% in Kids 6-11 (2.2 million vs. 620,000) and by 328% in Tweens 9-14 (1.9 million vs. 444,000), and the No. 2 entertainment cable network, Discovery, by 63% in Total Viewers (4.9 million vs. 3.0 million).
- Gaining viewers throughout its telecast, “Geek Charming” grew by 26% in Total Viewers (4.2 million to 5.3 million), by 28% in Kids 6-11 (1.8 million to 2.3 million) and by 31% in Tweens 9-14 (1.6 million to 2.1 million), start to finish.
- “Geek Charming” exceeded year-ago time period levels by solid double-digit percent margins across all demos, including by 26% in Total Viewers (4.9 million vs. 3.9 million), by 47% in Kids 6-11 (2.2 million vs. 1.5 million) and by 27% in Tweens 9-14 (1.9 million vs. 1.5 million).
Based on the popular young adult novel of the same name, “Geek Charming” stars Sarah Hyland (“Modern Family”) and Matt Prokop (“High School Musical 3: Senior Year”).
