Nicktoons, TeenNick, Disney Channel & Disney XD All Make Schedule Changes Starting Today
Starting today, Nicktoons, TeenNick, Disney Channel and Disney XD are all making some changes to their line-ups. Some are big (like Nicktoons and TeenNick) and others are smaller (like Disney Channel and Disney XD).
First off, Nicktoons is making rather large changes to their schedule. Notably, Danny Phantom, The Penguins of Madagascar, Back at the Barnyard and The Mighty B! are all gone from weekdays (and some possibly from weekends too – more on that farther on). Joining the weekday line-up are T.U.F.F. Puppy, Planet Sheen and Power Rangers Samurai – which will all have four different episode airing each day. T.U.F.F. and Sheen will be paired up in the 9am, 12pm, 10pm and 2am hours. Samurai will air in the 8am and 3pm hours. Re-joining the weekday schedule is Jimmy Neutron – which is going from 5 episodes a week in the 3am dead hour on late-Thursday nights (where it will still air as well), to weekdays in the 10am hour and four back-to-back episodes from 1-3pm – quite a improvement! Also rejoining weekdays is SpongeBob SquarePants, but in the midnight hour. Weekends are a little unknown right now, as Avatar is getting a “48 Straight” (that’s Nicktoons title for the 48-hour marathon) weekend starting Friday night at 7pm. Sunday night is different though. Invader ZIM will air in the late night period from 2-3am and again at 4am. The Mighty B! is only on late-Sunday night from 3-4am. Will next weekend change? We’ll find out soon. Stay tuned!
TeenNick is also experiencing major line-up changes starting today. Most notably are two series re-joining the line-up. The Amanda Show is back airing every morning from 6-7am and weekdays from 2-3pm. Also back is Unfabulous, weekdays from 1-2pm. Gone completely from the line-up are H2O: Just Add Water, House of Anubis, What I Like About You, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Freaks and Geeks, Undeclared and Gigantic. Weekday mornings are also completely different with hour chunks of Big Time Rush, VICTORiOUS, Zoey 101, Ned’s Declassified, and Drake & Josh from 7am-12pm. True Jackson remains in the noon hour. Every weekday afternoon is now four back-to-back episodes of Drake & Josh from 3-5pm, Ned’s Declassified from 5-7pm and Zoey 101 from 7-9pm. Degrassi remains in the 9pm hour. We already knew about The ‘90s Are All That’s move to 10pm every night – which started last Friday. Overnight is three hours of Degrassi from 2-5am and then an hour of Malcolm in the Middle at 5am. Weekends are TBA from noon-9pm right now, so stay tuned for that info!
Disney Channel will experience only minor weekday changes starting today. Gone is the current 2-6pm schedule, replaced by two, two-hour rotating marathons. In fact, this is the same thing that happened last year about this same time. Guess a regular line-up during that time doesn’t work well for them.
Disney XD is also shaking up their schedules a little, but mainly to mornings. The 6am rotating hour is now The Suite Life on Deck and Pair of Kings each day. Phineas and Ferb gets a triple play from 7-8:30am followed by Kick Buttowski which is moving down a half-hour. The Suite Life of Zack & Cody will now air back-to-back in the 9am, replacing Rated A for Awesome which is off the weekday line-up (and rightfully so, the show only had 13 episodes). In primetime, Kickin’ It will now air Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm followed by Pair of Kings and an hour of Mr. Young from 8-9pm. The rest of the line-up stays as it was, minus the regular week-to-week inconsistencies (that tend to plague all these networks).
