NICK NABS BASIC CABLE’S TOP SPOT; ICARLY SCORES 5.5 MILLION VIEWERS
AND RANKS AS WEEK’S TOP KID AND TWEEN TELECAST
NEW YORK–Aug. 16, 2011–Nickelodeon closed the week as basic cable’s top network in total day for the 208th consecutive week,– the longest run of its kind–with total viewers (2.3 million) and kids 2-11 (3.5/1.3 million). The net’s win was fueled by a strong performance from iCarly, which drew 5.5 million total viewers with a new prime-time episode on Saturday, Aug. 13, 8 p.m. (all times ET). The half-hour premiere posted high double and triple-digit increase over last year with kids 2-11(7.3/2.6 million, +87%), kids 6-11 (9.5/2.1 million, +126%) and tweens 9-14 (10.0/2.1 million, +144%), and also ranks as the week’s top telecast with all kid and tween demos.
Nick’s newest addition to its hit live-action roster, Bucket & Skinner’s Epic Adventures, also hit a high on Saturday, Aug. 13, 8:30 p.m. with 2.8 million total viewers and posted double-digit increases over the series’ premiere (July 1, 8 p.m. ET) with total viewers (+49%), kids 2-11 (+31%), kids 6-11 (+40%) and tweens 9-14 (+66%).
