Disney Channel: Weekly Highlights
During the week of June 13, Disney Channel ranked as TV’s No. 1 network in Total Day among Kids 6-11 (788,000/3.2 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (638,000/2.6 rating), delivering its largest weekly audience in the target demos in 24 weeks – since week of 12/27/10. Led by “A.N.T. Farm” and “Shake It Up,” Disney Channel held the week’s Top 6 TV telecasts in both Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14, with “A.N.T. Farm” standing as cable’s No. 2 scripted telecast in Total Viewers (4.3 million).
In Prime, Disney Channel was cable’s No. 1 network for the 319th straight week among Kids 6-11 (1.2 million/4.8 rating), representing more than 6 years of dominance on a weekly basis, and took the No. 1 spot for the 316th time in the prior 319 weeks among Tweens 9-14 (983,000/4.0 rating). In Total Viewers, Disney Channel (2.7 million) ranked a solid No. 2, over-shadowing No. 3 History Channel (2.4 million) by a solid 13%.
- Friday’s official launch of “A.N.T. Farm” ranked as the week’s No. 1 TV telecast in Kids 6-11 (2.0 million/8.1 rating) and placed a solid No. 2 in Tweens 9-14 (1.8 million/7.3 rating), behind only “Shake It Up,” which delivered a near series high in the demo.
- “A.N.T. Farm” stood as the week’s No. 2 scripted cable telecast in Total Viewers (4.3 million).
- “A.N.T. Farm” surpassed year-ago time period levels by impressive double-digit percent margins, including by 30% in Total Viewers, or by 1 million viewers (4.3 million vs. 3.3 million), by 54% in Kids 6-11 (2.0 million vs. 1.3 million) and by 38% in Tweens 9-14 (1.7 million vs. 1.3 million).
- Friday’s all-new “Shake It Up” (9:00 – 9:30 p.m.) ranked as the week’s No. 1 TV telecast in Tweens 9-14 (1.8 million/7.5 rating) and became the series’ No. 2 telecast of all time in the demo, behind only its series launch on 11/7/10. In addition, Friday’s airing was the show’s most-watched telecast in 5 months in Total Viewers (4.1 million – since 1/23/11) and in 4 months in Kids 6-11 (1.9 million/7.7 rating – since 2/20/11).
- Through its first 18 original telecasts, “Shake It Up” is pacing as the No. 1 cable series of all time in Tweens 9-14.
- In its third week, “So Random!” garnered a series high in Tweens 9-14 (1.7 million/7.0 rating), ranking among the week’s Top 5 TV telecasts in both Kids 6-11 (1.8 million/7.3 rating) and Tweens 9-14.
- In its time period, “So Random!” towered over programming on runners-up The Cartoon Network in Kids 6-11 (311% – 1.8 million vs. 438,000) and Nick-at-Nite in Tweens 9-14 (336% – 1.7 million vs. 390,000).
- Sunday’s original “Good Luck Charlie” (8:00 – 8:30 p.m.) posted a Season 2 high in Tweens 9-14 (1.7 million/7.0 rating), and delivered its second-best telecast of the season in Total Viewers (4.1 million) and Kids 6-11 (1.9 million/7.5 rating).
- “Good Luck Charlie” was the week’s No. 3 scripted cable telecast in Total Viewers, and placed among the Top 4 TV telecasts for the week in Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14.
