May 2011 – Total Day

Lifted by record setting performances by key original series “Pair of Kings” and “Zeke and Luther,” Disney XD posted its biggest May in the network’s history in Total Day across the board — Total Viewers (256,000), Kids 6-14 (132,000), Boys 6-14 (84,000), Kids 6-11 (106,000), Boys 6-11 (67,000), Tweens 9-14 (85,000) and Boys 9-14 (55,000) — and with double-digit percent gains, emerged as the month’s year-to-year growth leader among all kid cable networks for the 2nd consecutive month.

  • Disney XD increased its audience year to year by 27% in Kids 6-14 (132,000 vs. 104,000), by 24% in Boys 6-14 (84,000 vs. 68,000), by 26% in Kids 6-11 (106,000 vs. 84,000), by 22% in Boys 6-11 (67,000 vs. 55,000), by 37% in Tweens 9-14 (85,000 vs. 62,000) and by 31% in Boys 9-14 (55,000 vs. 42,000).
  • Disney XD has grown its Total Day audience year to year for 29 consecutive months among Boys 6-14 and Boys 6-11 – the longest streak of its kind among all kid networks.
  • Disney XD surpassed Nicktoons by considerable double-digit percentages in Total Day among Kids 6-14 (71% – 132,000 vs. 77,000), Boys 6-14 (50% – 84,000 vs. 56,000), Kids 6-11 (80% – 106,000 vs. 59,000), Boys 6-11 (60% – 67,000 vs. 42,000), Tweens 9-14 (85% – 85,000 vs. 46,000) and Boys 9-14 (67% – 55,000 vs. 33,000).

May 2011 – Prime

Disney XD posted all-time May highs in Prime across all demos — Total Viewers (320,000), Kids 6-14 (183,000), Boys 6-14 (123,000), Kids 6-11 (145,000), Boys 6-11 (100,000), Tweens 9-14 (120,000) and Boys 9-14 (81,000), posting the biggest year-to-year increases of any kid-targeting network.

  • Year over year, Disney XD registered across the board double-digit percent increases: Kids 6-14 (+35% – 183,000 vs. 136,000), Boys 6-14 (+35% – 123,000 vs. 91,000), Kids 6-11 (+37% – 145,000 vs. 106,000), Boys 6-11 (+45% – 100,000 vs. 69,000), Tweens 9-14 (+45% – 120,000 vs. 83,000) and Boys 9-14 (+40% – 81,000 vs. 58,000).
  • Disney XD continues to hold the longest growth streak of any cable network for kids, increasing its monthly audience year to year for the 29th consecutive month among Kids 6-11, and 27th straight month among Boys 6-14 and Boys 6-11, including by hefty double-digit percentages in the past 5 months, and in 9 of the previous 10 months overall.
  • Disney XD again dominated Nicktoons in Prime, surpassing the key competitor across all key demos, including by 44% among Kids 6-14 (183,000 vs. 127,000), by 29% in Boys 6-14 (123,000 vs. 95,000), by 41% among Kids 6-11 (145,000 vs. 103,000), by 32% in Boys 6-11 (100,000 vs. 76,000), by 76% among Tweens 9-14 (120,000 vs. 68,000) and by 65% among Boys 9-14 (81,000 vs. 49,000).

Programming Highlights

  • On Monday, May 2, “Pair of Kings” (8:00 – 8:30 p.m.) hit series highs in Total Viewers (1.13 million), Kids 6-14 (777,000), Boys 6-14 (436,000), Kids 6-11 (584,000), Tweens 9-14 (608,000) and Boys 9-14 (351,000), becoming the channel’s No. 1 original series telecast of all time and posting time period highs among Kids 6-14, Boys 6-14 and Tweens 9-14.
  • Also on Monday, May 2, the 3rd season debut of “Zeke and Luther” (8:30 – 9:00 p.m.) hit series and time period highs among Boys 9-14 (308,000), and became the series’ No. 2 telecast ever in Kids 6-14 (630,000), Boys 6-14 (397,000), Kids 6-11 (509,000), Boys 6-11 (309,000) and Tweens 9-14 (492,000).
