Disney Junior Honors Donald Duck’s Birthday on June 9 With “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” Marathon & Premiere

DISNEY JUNIOR’S “MICKEY MOUSE CLUBHOUSE” HONORS DONALD DUCK WITH A NEW EPISODE AND DONALD-THEMED MARATHON AIRING ON THE FAMOUS DUCK’S BIRTHDAY, THURSDAY, JUNE 9 ON DISNEY CHANNEL

Disney Junior’s “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” celebrates Donald Duck with a new episode and Donald-themed marathon of the Emmy-nominated series airing on the famous duck’s birthday, THURSDAY, JUNE 9 (6:00–11:00 a.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. In the new episode, “Donald’s Clubhouse” (9:00 a.m. ET/PT), Mickey leaves Donald in charge of the Clubhouse, but when Donald and Goofy accidentally turn a small mess into a big mess, the whole gang must work together to tidy up in time for a visit from Mother Goose Clarabelle and her Cluck-Cluck trio of singing chickens.

Voice

  • According to The Guinness Book of World Records, Donald Duck’s voice is the most popular voice to imitate, ever.
  • Only two people have ever performed Donald’s voice – Clarence “Ducky” Nash (1934-1985) and his protégé, Tony Anselmo (1985-present).
  • A special microphone, The Neumann TLM-170, is used to record Donald’s voice. Preferred for its warmth, this microphone also rounds out the high tones and smoothes the “splat” in Donald’s voice.

Career

  • Donald Duck made his screen debut in 1934’s “The Wise Little Hen.” His first starring role was in 1937’s “Modern Inventions.” He starred or appeared in six feature films, seven television programs and over 150 shorts, including the Academy Award-winning “Der Fuehrer’s Face” (1943).

Personal Life

  • Donald first met Daisy in 1937 and has been wooing her ever since.
  • Donald hails from Ducksburg, USA, but docks his boat, Miss Daisy, in Toontown’s Toon Lake. These days he spends much of his time in the Clubhouse.

Combining the rich heritage of Disney’s beloved classic characters with state-of-the-art CG animation, “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” introduces a whole new generation of kids to Mickey and his pals. Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Pluto and Daisy all join Mickey in this vibrant interactive series designed to introduce preschoolers to problem solving and early math concepts through contemporary, interactive storytelling.
