Disney Channel (1Q11)
Reigning supreme again with the broadest portfolio of original series across all television, including 1Q11’s Top 2 series, “Wizards of Waverly Place” and “Shake It Up,” Disney Channel was again the destination for Tweens 9-14 (510,000/2.1 rating), ranking as TV’s No. 1 network in Total Day for the 8th consecutive quarter.
Moreover, 1Q11 wrapped as the channel’s best 1Q of all time in Total Viewers (1.8 million) and Kids 6-11 (633,000/2.6 rating), and as its most-watched non-summer quarter ever in the Kid 6-11 demo. Also impressive, in Total Viewers Disney Channel has grown its audience year to year for 8 straight quarters, the only established kids’ network that can make that claim (dates back to 2Q09).
In Prime, Disney Channel’s reign as basic cable’s No. 1 network extended to 24 consecutive quarters in Kids 6-11 (1.1 million/4.5 rating) and to 47 quarters in Tweens 9-14 (887,000/3.6 rating). In Total Viewers (2.7 million), the net ranked a solid No. 2.
Disney Channel held TV’s Top 2 scripted telecasts of 1Q11 in Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14 with part 3 of “The Suite Life on Deck’s” ‘Twister’ and “Good Luck Charlie”:
