Disney Channel Holds 2011’s Top 3 Cable Telecasts in Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14

Disney Channel’s “The Suite Life Moviecleaned up on its debut Friday night, sweeping its time period across all cable, across the board, and ranking as the evening’s No. 1 scripted TV telecast with 5.2 million Total Viewers.

The No. 1 TV movie of 2011 to date among its key kid demos, “The Suite Life Movie” now ranks as cable’s No. 3 telecast among Kids 6-11 (9.8 rating/2.4 million) and Tweens 9-14 (8.9 rating/2.2 million), behind only part 3 of the series’ ‘Twister’ trilogy and a “Good Luck Charlie” telecast on the same night (1/16/11), giving Disney Channel the Top 3 cable telecasts/scripted TV telecasts of year among its primary demographics.

  • “The Suite Life Movie” was Friday’s No. 1 scripted TV telecast in Total Viewers (5.2 million) and TV’s No. 1 telecast among Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14.
  • Overall, Disney Channel delivered Friday’s Top 15 TV telecasts among Tweens 9-14, and the Top 7 among Kids 6-11.
  • Start to finish, “The Suite Life Movie” grew by 36% in Total Viewers (4.4 million to 6.0 million), by 40% in Kids 6-11 (2.0 million to 2.8 million) and by 39% in Tweens 9-14 (1.8 million to 2.5 million).
  • “The Suite Life Movie” doubled the year-ago time period average (3/26/10) in Kids 6-11 (2.4 million vs. 1.2 million) and Tweens 9-14 (2.2 million vs. 1.1 million), and nearly doubled in Total Viewers (+86% – 5.2 million vs. 2.8 million).
