(Toronto, Canada) This February, Corus Entertainment’s kids networks deliver new episodes, series and specials all month long. Highlights include: YTV’s premiere of Gigantic, an original Nickelodeon drama series starring Grace Gummer; a slew of Valentine-themed programming on both YTV and Nickelodeon; as well as Treehouse’s annual Friendship and Caring Day including a premiere episode of The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That! starring the voice of Martin Short as the Cat.
YTV FEBRUARY 2011 HIGHLIGHTS
GIGANTIC – SERIES PREMIERE
This drama series features an ensemble cast that includes Anna Moore, played by Grace Gummer, daughter of Meryl Streep, and her younger brother Walt, two teens who live the lives of Hollywood socialites as the children of famous movie star couple John and Jennifer Moore. Gigantic also stars Anna’s rival, an aspiring actress, Vanessa, played by Gia Mantegna, daughter of Joe Mantegna (The Simpsons). The series takes a fictional look at the difficulties of growing up as children of Hollywood celebrities, giving an insider view of the glitz, glamour, and A-list parties of Tinseltown while also exposing the humanity and comedy beneath it all. This 18-episode half-hour original Nickelodeon series produced by Reveille Productions premieres on Friday, February 11 at 9:30 p.m.
VALENTINE’S DAY ON YTV
On Monday, February 14 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., YTV celebrates Valentine’s Day with special episodes filled with crushes and kisses. The love-filled lineup includes back-to-back themed episodes from Nickelodeon’s iCarly starring Miranda Cosgrove, How to be Indie starring Canadian starlet Melinda Shankar, Victorious and SpongeBob SquarePants – just to name a few.
Valentine’s just wouldn’t be the same without the beloved Charlie Brown specials! Tune in as YTV brings viewers of all ages the classics: A Charlie Brown Valentine and Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown.
A CHARLIE BROWN VALENTINE
The Peanuts gang is looking for love in A Charlie Brown Valentine, airing Sunday, February 13 at 10 a.m. (r) at 8 p.m. Lovesick Charlie Brown hopes – still – to get a valentine from the Little Red-Haired Girl, as does Sally from Linus, Lucy from Schroeder and Peppermint Patty from Charlie Brown.
BE MY VALENTINE, CHARLIE BROWN
Love is in the air, but where are Charlie Brown’s valentines? Though he’s longing for some sort of love poem from the Little Red-Haired Girl, Charlie Brown would settle for a card from anyone! Meanwhile Linus’ crush on his teacher, Miss Othmar, has him desperate to get her just the right Valentine’s gift. Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown airs Sunday, February 13 at 10:30 a.m. (r) at 8:30 p.m.
AN EVENING WITH JUSTIN BIEBER
YTV is celebrating Canadian pop superstar Justin Bieber’s first movie Never Say Never 3D with two back-to-back episodes starring the young singer including True Jackson, VP: True Concert and The Next Star’s, Season 2 finale featuring performances by Bieber on Thursday, February 10 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
FAMILY DAY ON YTV
On Monday, February 21, YTV is bringing the family together with a day filled with family-friendly programming fit for every relative. Beginning at 9 a.m., the network kicks off Family Day with family-themed programming including back-to-back episodes of viewers’ favourite series such as SpongeBob SquarePants, The Fairly OddParents, The Penguins of Madagascar and Sidekick.
Family Day programming continues from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on YTV with two back-to-back blockbuster films – Cheaper by the Dozen 2 starring comedians Steve Martin and Eugene Levy followed by Yours Mine & Ours starring Dennis Quaid and Rene Russo.
YTV continues the family fun into the evening with a lineup of family-themed sitcoms. Beginning at 4 p.m. with SpongeBob SquarePants, viewers can relax with their relatives and enjoy back-to-back episodes of The Penguins of Madagascar and The Fairly OddParents.
FEBRUARY BIG FUN MOVIES
YTV is giving kids and their families another reason to sit back, relax and curl up this winter with its new Sunday movie block, Big Fun Movies, hosted by YTV’s newest on-air personality Laura. Big Fun Movies will air back-to-back films every Sunday at 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. The following titles will premiere throughout the month of February:
Nim’s Island (2008) premieres Sunday, February 20 at 6 p.m. – starring Jodie Foster and Gerard Butler

Nickelodeon gets lovey-dovey this February with Valentine-themed episodes of viewers’ favourite Nick series all day long on Monday, February 14 beginning at 5 p.m. Highlights include the three following premiere episodes:
TRUE JACKSON, VP: TRUE VALENTINE – PREMIERE
True and Jimmy go to the Valentine’s dance just as friends although they both want to reveal they have feelings for each other. Meanwhile, Amanda gets a surprise visit from her ex boyfriend Brock Champion who asks her to marry him. True Jackson, VP: True Valentine premieres Monday, February 14 at 5 p.m.
TRUE JACKSON, VP: TRUE DATE – PREMIERE
After Valentine’s Day, True and Jimmy prepare to go on their first date just as Max implements new rules banning Mad Style employees from dating each other. Meanwhile, Amanda begins planning her wedding to Brock with little advice from Doris. True Jackson, VP: True Date premieres Monday, February 14 at 5:30 p.m.
THE TROOP: SPEED – PREMIERE
Jake and Haley must pretend to be a couple in order to catch the Eris Fairy that’s been running around the school breaking up couples in love. Felix works furiously to trap the Eris Fairy only to realize how much he relates to her situation. In the end, the fairy apologizes to Felix and tells him that she likes him. The Troop: Speed premieres Monday, February 14 at 6 p.m.

FRIENDSHIP AND CARING DAY
Treehouse celebrates this heart-filled time of year with Friendship and Caring Day, airing back-to-back Valentine’sDay-themed episodes all day long including The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That!, Caillou, Wonder Pets!, and Max & Ruby on Monday, February 14 beginning at 7:30 a.m.
Everyone’s favourite turtle Franklin is paying viewers a special visit as Treehouse presents a sneak peek of the upcoming richly coloured CGI-animated series Franklin and Friends at 6 p.m.

THE CAT IN THE HAT KNOWS A LOT ABOUT THAT!: FINOLA’S FARM/PICK YOUR FRIENDS – PREMIERE
Nick and Sally run out of milk and the Cat (voiced by Martin Short) arrives to take them to Finola’s Farm. While at the farm, they learn how to milk a cow and discover that cows’ milk can be made into lots of yummy foods. On Valentine’s Day, Nick and Sally disagree on how to make a card for the Cat and learn a valuable lesson about friendship when they start to wonder if they are really best friends. This premiere episode debuts on Monday, February 14 at 7 p.m.
CHINESE NEW YEAR ON TREEHOUSE
Preschoolers and parents can join Treehouse to celebrate Chinese New Year with back-to-back episodes of New Year-themed episodes of Caillou, Ni Hao Kai-Lan and Are We There Yet?: World Adventure on Thursday, February 3 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
