They can act as a kid’s eyes, legs or hands; they can turn on the lights, open the door, warn someone about food they’re allergic to — or even calm them down when they are anxious. They’re called service dogs. On Sunday, Dec. 5, at 9:00 p.m., Nickelodeon premieres the Nick News with Linda Ellerbee special, “Good Dog,” featuring kids who have these unique dogs in their lives.

December 2, 2010 | Nickelodeon notched another win as the top basic cable network for kids and total viewers in November, according to Nielsen Media Research (11/1/10-11/28/10) for total day. Nick at Nite and Nickelodeon’s digital networks posted strong monthly performances as well: Nick at Nite scored its most-watched November ever among total viewers and was number one among Women 18-49; and Nicktoons and TeenNick each reached record November performances among their respective key demos.

December 1, 2010 | The Hub, a television network for kids and their families, generated significant time period increases the week of November 22-28 with special holiday weekend programming, including highly anticipated sneak preview presentations of two of its original animated series, “Transformers Prime” and “G.I. Joe Renegades,” according to Nielsen Media Research data. The Hub is a joint venture between Discovery Communications and Hasbro, Inc.

December 1, 2010 | Cartoon Network’s prime time performance across November 2010 expanded across all kid demos compared to November 2009—average kids 6-11 delivery (545,000) grew by 7%and ratings (2.2) by 5%, kids 2-11 delivery (772,000) grew by 4% and ratings (1.9) by 6%, and kids 9-14 delivery (430,000) and ratings (1.8) both grew by 6%.
