- YTV, Nickelodeon Canada Fall 2010 Programming Announced
August 4, 2010 | Leading kids’ broadcaster Corus Entertainment announced today details from its fall 2010 programming line ups for YTV, Nickelodeon (Canada) and Treehouse. Committed to providing viewers with quality content from preschool shows that parents trust, to entertaining live-action comedies and reality programming for kids and their families, to nighttime drama for teens, audiences at home can expect non-stop hits this fall.
- Nickelodeon Names Keith Dawkins Senior Vice President, General Manager of Nicktoons and TeenNick
August 4, 2010 | Nickelodeon has named Keith Dawkins Senior Vice President, General Manager of Nicktoons and TeenNick. In his newly expanded role, Dawkins will add oversight of TeenNick, Nickelodeon’s 24-hour network for teens, to his current role as GM of Nicktoons. Dawkins will run the day-to-day operations for the teen network, including the on-air programming, scheduling and marketing, and will work with MTV Networks’ Affiliate Sales organization on the channel’s distribution rollout. The announcement was made today by Sarah Levy, Chief Operating Officer, Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group, to whom he will continue to report.
- Production Has Begun On A New Disney Channel Original Movie, “Lemonade Mouth”
August 4, 2010 | Production has begun in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on the music-driven “Lemonade Mouth,” a Disney Channel Original Movie that tells kids and tweens that building your confidence rocks and finding your destiny rules. The story follows five disparate high school students who meet in detention, realize they are destined to rock, and ultimately form a band that becomes a champion for students sidelined by the high school elite. The blockbuster Disney Channel Original Movie franchise has produced basic cable’s #1 movie with Kids 6-11 and/or Tweens from 2002-09.

August 3, 2010 | Throughout the first week of August 2010, Cartoon Network scored across-the-board prime time delivery and ratings gains among its targeted kid demos, including double-digit increases among kids 6-11 and kids 2-11. Compared to the same time period last year, prime time kids 6-11 delivery (485,000) and ratings (2.0) increased by 11%; kids 2-11 delivery (770,000) increased by 30% and ratings (1.9) by 36%; and kids 9-14 delivery (336,000) increased by 3% and ratings (1.4) by 8%.

August 3, 2010 | Nickelodeon delivered a sizzling summer surprise with iCarly’s “iGot a Hot Room” (Friday, July 30, at 8 p.m. ET/PT), giving fans a never-before-seen look at Carly’s bedroom. The half-hour episode scored basic cable’s top spot for the week (7/26/10-8/1/10) with total viewers (7.7 million) and also ranked as the number-one telecast with all kid and tween demos. The premiere also was the top telecast on broadcast and basic cable on Friday with viewers P2+ and all kid and tween demos–averaging an 11.0/3.9 million K2-11, a 14.2/3.0 million K6-11 and a 14.0/3.0 million T9-14. Year to date, iCarly ranks as the top series on all TV with kids 2-11.
