August 31, 2010 | Nickelodeon closes August as basic cable’s number-one total day network with kids 2-11 and total viewers, while also scoring its most-watched month ever with total viewers. According to Nielsen Media Research (7/26/10-8/29/10), Nickelodeon averaged 2.5 million total viewers and a 3.7/1.3 million kids 2-11 for the month and was up double digits with kids 6-11 (+12%) and tweens 9-14 (+16%).

- Nickelodeon’s “VICTORiOUS” Ranks As Basic Cable’s #1 Program on Friday With 3.6 Million Total Viewers
August 31, 2010 | A new episode of Victorious (August 27, 8 p.m. ET/PT), “Wi-Fi in the Sky,” scored the top spot on basic cable with total viewers (3.6 million) on Friday night and ranked as broadcast and basic cable’s most-watched program with kids 2-11, kids 6-11 and tweens 9-14. The new half-hour episode also posted high double-and triple-digit increases, averaging a 5.4/ 1.9 million K2-11 (+74%), 7.1/1.5 million K6-11 (+129%), and a 6.5/1.4 million T9-14 (+195%).

- Disney XD’s New Series “Pair of Kings” Premieres September 22, After Preview on Disney Channel September 10
August 30, 2010 | Disney Channel fan favorites Mitchel Musso (Oliver on “Hannah Montana,” Jeremy on “Phineas and Ferb”) and Doc Shaw (Marcus on “The Suite Life on Deck”) will cross over to headline their own comedy adventure series, “Pair of Kings,” premiering WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT) on sibling channel Disney XD. The series follows the fraternal twins who must relocate from their Chicago home to the island of Kinkow after they learn they are the rightful heirs to the throne of this odd kingdom, one filled with peculiar superstitions and customs – and one that may not be ready for two teenage kings. Disney Channel will give Musso and Shaw a royal send off with a “Pair of Kings” hour-long special, featuring the two stars in candid interstitials, on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 10 (9:00 p.m. ET/PT).

August 29, 2010 | Nickelodeon will premiere two new original animated series on Saturday, October 2. T.U.F.F. Puppy, created by Butch Hartman (The Fairly OddParents, Danny Phantom), and Planet Sheen, a spin-off based on the character Sheen from Jimmy Neutron.

August 27, 2010 | Sym-Bionic Titan, a new original animated series from acclaimed animation creator/director Genndy Tartakovsky (Dexter's Laboratory and Samurai Jack) crash-lands on Cartoon Network Friday, September 17 at 8 p.m. (ET/PT). Sym-Bionic Titan joins an action-packed Friday night line-up that includes network hits Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Generator Rex, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

August 27, 2010 | Cartoon Network will premiere two new animated series this Labor Day, September 6. Regular Show, a Cartoon Network Studios production, and MAD, from Warner Bros. Animation, will join Adventure Time, Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, Johnny Test and Total Drama World Tour on the network’s Monday night premiere block that runs from 7 – 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.
- The First “Nickelodeon Mega Music Fest” Premieres September 6
August 26, 2010 | Preschoolers get ready to party with Dora the Explorer, Yo Gabba Gabba! and some of today's top music stars for the first annual Nickelodeon Mega Music Fest, an hour-long prime-time concert special for the whole family, premiering Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 6, from 8:00-9:00 p.m. ET/PT. The Nickelodeon Mega Music Fest was shot live at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York and is hosted by actor/comedian John Leguizamo along with Sherri Shepherd as Stage Manager. The concert special features Justin Bieber, Dr. Phil, Colbie Caillat, Wyclef Jean, The Roots, Dora the Explorer, Yo Gabba Gabba!, The Fresh Beat Band, The Laurie Berkner Band and more.

August 24, 2010 | In Total Day*, Disney Channel was the week’s No. 1 TV network among Kids 6-11 (815,000/3.3 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (692,000/2.8 rating), overshadowing Nickelodeon by a considerable 16% in the Tween demo (692,000 vs. 595,000). This marked the third consecutive week Disney Channel outdelivered Nickelodeon among Kids 6-11 (815,000 vs. 778,000) and the 10th week it defeated it among Tweens 9-14.
- Cartoon Network Ratings Highlights for August 16 – 22, 2010
August 24, 2010 | Cartoon Network attracted solid double-digit gains among kids 2-11 in both Prime Time and Total Day across the 4th week of August. Compared to the same week in 2009, Total Day delivery among kids 2-11 (657,000) and ratings (1.6) both grew by 14%. In Prime Time, weekly average kids 2-11 delivery (754,000) increased by 18% and ratings (1.8) by 13%. Delivery among kids 6-11 (410,000) also grew in Total Day by 2% and in Prime Time (474,000) by 3%.

August 24, 2010 | Cookie Jar Entertainment has renewed the animated series Johnny Test for a fifth season, bringing the show to a total of 92 episodes. Created by Scott Fellows (Big Time Rush, Ned’s Declassified), the series airs on TELETOON in Canada and Cartoon Network in the United States.
