Cartoon Network Ratings Highlights for October 18 – 24, 2010

Cartoon Network’s Monday night block of comedy animation (7-10 p.m.) continued to rank #1 among boys 6-11 demos compared to its competition, and scored significant gains vs. the same 2009 time period.  Overall, kids 6-11 average delivery (748,000) grew by 13% and ratings (3.0) by 11%; kids 2-11 delivery (1,081,000) grew by 7% and ratings (2.6) by 4%; and kids 9-14 delivery (571,000) grew by 26% and ratings (2.3) by 21%.

Adventure Time (8 p.m.) continued to anchor the Monday evening comedy line-up, earning solid growth vs. 2009—kids 6-11 delivery (1,083,000) increased by 46% and kids 2-11 delivery (1,477,000) increased by 30%. Even more impressively, boys 6-11 delivery (904,000) improved by an impressive 104%, boys 2-11 delivery (1,169,000) improved by 79% and boys 9-14 delivery (665,000) jumped by 122%.

Showing double and triple delivery growth across most kids demo, Regular Show (Monday, 8:15 p.m.) also proved its growing performance on Monday.  Compared to last year’s time period, kids 6-11 delivery (1,065,000) improved by 37%; kids 2-11 delivery (1,389,000) improved by 24%, kids 9-14 delivery (828,000) improved by 59%, boys 6-11 delivery (877,000) improved by 82%, boys 2-11 delivery (1,083,000) improved by 64% and boys 9-14 delivery (665,000) improved by 122%.  MAD (8:30 p.m.) also continued its growth trajectory among targeted kids and boys—kids 6-11 delivery (940,000) grew by 17%, kids 2-11 delivery (1,213,000) grew by 4%, kids 9-14 delivery (741,000) grew by 31%, boys 6-11 delivery (769,000) grew by 53%, boys 2-11 delivery (939,000) grew by 32% and boys 9-14 delivery (603,000) grew by 84%.

Wednesday night’s schedule (7-10 p.m.) of live-action alternative programming also earned audience approval, particularly among boys compared to the same 2009 time period.  Withdouble-digit growth across the night, kids 6-11 delivery (738,000) improved by 44% and ratings (3.0) by 43%; kids 2-11 delivery (967,000) improved by 12% and ratings (2.3) by 10%; kids 9-14 delivery (531,000) improved by 48% and ratings (2.2) by 47%; boys 6-11 delivery (579,000) improved by 81% and ratings (4.6) by 84%; boys 2-11 delivery (708,000) improved by 30% and ratings (3.3) by 27%; and boys 9-14 delivery (399,000) improved by 87% and ratings (3.2) by 88%.

Brand new episodes of HOLE IN THE WALL (Wednesday, 8 p.m.) scored double digit delivery and ratings gains among older kids: kids 6-11 delivery (797,000) and ratings (3.2) expanded by 60%, and kids 9-14 delivery (540,000) expanded by 59% and ratings (2.2) by 57%.  Immediately following, DUDE, What Would Happen (8:30 p.m.) charted even larger gains—kids 6-11 delivery (900,000) and ratings (3.6) both expanded by 89%, and kids 9-14 delivery (653,000) expanded by 97% and ratings (2.7) by 93%.  Finally, Destroy Build Destroy (8:30 p.m.) closed the live-action block with stronger growth yet—kids 6-11 delivery (883,000) and ratings (3.6) both expanded by 89%, and kids 9-14 delivery (640,000) grew by 110% and ratings (2.6) by 100%.

Friday night’s new episode of STAR WARS: The Clone Wars (9 p.m.) earned solid gains among all boys demos.  Versus the previous year’s timeslot, boys 6-11 delivery (574,000) grew by 22%, boys 2-11 delivery (725,000) grew by 23% and boys 9-14 delivery (561,000) grew by 83%.  Preceding this, Sym-Bionic Titan (8 p.m.) also earned double-digit delivery gains among kids and boys 6-11, 2-11 and 9-14, ranging between 10% and 20% across the board.  Similarly, Generator Rex (8:30 p.m.) also charted double-digit delivery growth among boys 6-11, 2-11 and 9-14, ranging between 11% and 14%.
