Nicktoons Beats Disney XD in Key Kid Demos Over Labor Day Weekend
Nicktoons, Nickelodeon’s 24/7 animation channel, which is in about 20 million less households than Disney XD (57 vs. 77 million) scored total day victories over the Disney digital cable channel this past Labor Day weekend in kids and tweens demos.
On Sunday, September 5, Nicktoons programmed their day with marathons of Invader ZIM (6 – 9 a.m.), Avatar (9 a.m. – 2 p.m.) and Dragon Ball Z Kai (2 – 7 p.m. and 8 – 10 p.m.), as well as Fairly OddParents (7 – 8 p.m.) and SpongeBob: Truth or Square (10 – 11 p.m.). Disney XD programmed their day with a Phineas and Ferb marathon (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.) and sitcoms I’m in the Band, Zeke and Luther and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody (5 – 11 p.m.). For total day (6 a.m. – 11 p.m.), Nicktoons beat Disney XD with kids 6-11 and tweens 9-14:

On Labor Day, Monday, September 6, Nicktoons programmed another Avatar marathon (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.), encores of the first three episodes of Dragon Ball Z Kai (5 – 6:30 p.m.) and the Nicktoons premieres of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles Forever (6:30 – 8 p.m.), Rush Zone: Guardians of the Core (8 – 8:07 p.m.) and a new episode of Dragon Ball Z Kai (8:07 – 8:35 p.m.). Disney XD programmed the day with a Kick Buttowski marathon (9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.) and the network premiere of the movie Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker (5 – 7 p.m. and an encore from 7 – 9 p.m.). For total day (6 a.m. – 11 p.m.), Nicktoons beat Disney XD in all three important kid demos of kids 2-11, 6-11 and tweens 9-14:
